Can hobbies be a good career path?
I've been interested in car for nearly all my life, and I'm interested in becoming a automotive journalist. But I have my doubts that this might be a successful path to go in, even though it would be my dream job.

If you can make your hobby your vocation that would be wonderful. Not everyone is as fortunate so they might be able to work in the industry they like but opt for a different role. or they opt for the writer role in a different industry...…..
While I have not recruited specifically for Automotive Journalists, I have recruited for auto auction (online and physical), auto online retail and auto companies that gather and sell statistics. I have also found that the best way to find out about any career is to go online and ask. There is information out there that will tell you what people do in certain careers, other sites that might describe a typical day in the role, jobsites with openings and job descriptions as well as salary ranges for the positions, etc. YouTube may have videos explaining the same. If you look at multiple sites, look for consistencies in what they say. This should help you feel more comfortable that the information you are reading is accurate.

Definitely but its going to take time to make an income out of it. If you are strong enough to hold on till then. Nevertheless wise to consider financial risk before taking up any hobby as your career. All the Best!
