What do I do?

I have experience in sales and some technical support. Also in food. I am also self-taught in messages and have considered getting licensed. I suppose I just have a lot of skills that I am unsure what to do with or where to direct. #career

Jebin’s Answer

I can see you have mixture of experience.

I would recommend focussing on the One which you interest Most.

For Example, If you focus at the Technical Support; you may eye for product companies ( For example; Cisco )  for their technical support which will give more exposure. From there, you may take the next steps towards your goal.

Most Important, Keep learning/Continue Studies in parrellel when possible.

Monal’s Answer

As you mentioned, you have experience in sales and tech support , I think you can look for roles in pre-sales/consulting wherein you would be able to use your technical skills and help raising sales for your employer.

Gaurav’s Answer

Building a career means you need learn more skills and strive to be a professional in each of your options. Given you are in Bay Area there is a lot of demand for Sales and "Technical" Tech Support.

But, most important thing is your own calling. One way to decide is try to map out what would it be like in 3yr, 5yr and 10yr out. Do you like and want that outcome? Then figure out what would it take to reach that outcome. Whatever you decide it would be the right choice as you will do it with a reasonable understanding.

all the best.

Drew’s Answer

I think your best bet would be to move forward with a career in sales or pre-sales. Having technical knowledge always makes you more desirable for any company, and in the sales field, if you do not enjoy what you are doing, it is relatively one of the easier careers to change quickly.
