Is it possible that I could learn how to do carpentry.

I would like a hard working hands on job. #job

Anyone can learn this skill with dedication and a willingness to try, no matter their past experience. First, think about what interests you. Are you drawn to residential work, commercial projects, or something more specialized?

Whatever you decide, begin with the basics. Watch YouTube videos and talk to friends or family who work in the field. Check if your local community college offers trade school programs.

Gain hands-on experience by seeking apprenticeships at local construction companies or lumber yards. Consider volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, where you can help build housing or make countertops and cabinets.

Start with small projects like building shelves or birdhouses, which don't need expensive tools. Look for discarded wooden pallets, as they're perfect for small projects and learning to work with rough lumber.

The one thing about carpentry is it is a trade, which makes it possible for you to get started in this field without have specific schooling. Having classroom training and certifications will get you much further much faster. There is a lot more technical knowledge that is required these days because of the building codes. I would suggest getting touch with your local Carpenter's Union to see if they can set you up with an apprenticeship. Granted without any experience you may start out doing the grunt work of cleaning up or hauling materials, but it will get you in the environment and allow you to see if it is something you truly like.

See if any family or friends know any people in the business and ask for a reference to see if you can get an apprenticeship or can pick up some part time work.
Try calling some local carpenters (you can use Google to look them up) to see if they would allow you to do some part time work or if they would offer an apprenticeship
Check your local college or trade schools for classes that might be offered supporting this type of career.
Call the local Carpenter's Union for apprenticeship opportunities and suggestions on how to get started.
Don't give up if you run into obsticles.

100% possible that you can learn carpentry!

There are trade schools that will train you to become a carpenter! Many of these programs are 2 years that prepare people for careers in carpentry.

There are also online trade schools that one can take to become a carpenter!Available to anyone, from high school graduates to those who have worked in the field for years, online carpentry classes offer foundational instruction and practical exercises that teach you not only how to become a carpenter, but also how to succeed in the trade.

Alternatively, you could do an apprenticeship (learning the trade under someone who is experienced). You can always reach out to a local carpenter and talk to him/her about the possibilities of learning under them as an apprentice!
