Ryan’s Answer

Yes and no.

Colleges will definitely provide you resources to help in your job search, as they want their alumni to be successful, and have statistics showing that they are providing a good opportunities for incoming students. But the bulk of the effort will be on you. Depending on the program and the school you attend, the number and type of resources will vary. In some cases you may have a career center that provides you with practice interviews, career fairs, and small meetings with individual employers. In other cases, the resources are limited to a quick 5 minute review of your resume.

My advice would be to find out what level of support your school provides and utilize them to their fullest potential. Even then, you'll still need to make connections, get your name out there, and work very hard to get introductions, interviews, and eventually land a job.

Best of luck!
