Rosie’s Answer

Hi Amber,

Me too! Happy to hear you love the art of cooking and baking great first step! Going to a junior college is a great way to see if you are going to enjoy learning more about your craft. I encourage you to check out Johnson and Wales University because you are so close they have a impeccable reputation for being a top collage of culinary arts.

I also encourage you to find a after school job in the food industry that will give you some true insight on what it is like to work in the food industry. Remember if you love it the money will follow!

Hope I helped!

Travis’s Answer

Hi Amber
What a great choice in career! I want to echo what Chef Rosie said about Johnson & Wales University. That is the the best culinary school around. I was able to attend there for my Bachelors degree in Food Service Management and even continue on for my Masters in Hospitality Management. While this school has changed a little in the last 10 years, it is still a highly regarded institution in the area of culinary education. With high job placement rates in the high 90% range, they are very willing to help with finding you the proper fit for a career.

Regardless of where you decide to go, I wish you the best of luck.
