Simeon’s Answer

If you've already applied to the ones you're aware of, I'd recommend reaching out to your professors and friends to see if they're aware of any internships that you haven't been made aware of yet. Also, consider the possibility that an internship might be in a town over if you are really dedicated to finding an opportunity. You'd have to find a way to make the logistics work, which would be harder if its a particularly long internship.

Your university will likely have either a website like Handshake or a professional development center that provides different internship leads. You should try and apply to a huge volume of internships; you only need the one internship to help further your career path and interests. Indeed, LinkedIn, and Glassdoor are also great websites to use, and you can filter for paid internships.

You can use job search sites to find the right opportunities. Job boards that I highly recommend are:
1. Indeed.com
2. Monster.com
3. Dice (IT related)
4. LinkedIn.com

It looks like there is also a great internship site: http://www.internships.com

Don't forget to reach out to your college counselor, most universities also have career counselors. You may also want to see if there are any on-campus opportunities. I was lucky enough to find a position on campus that gave me relevant work experience on campus with a flexible schedule.
