Is there a profession that involves professional gambling or the study/art of gambling?

I ask this question because I have always been intrigued by the game Roulette. I have recently learned of a technique that drastically increases my likelihood of winning. This led me to think about whether other individuals have learned techniques to increase their wins when gambling to the point where they have been able to make a profession out of it.

There are a lot of jobs that can involve the act or study of gambling, the obvious is a casino dealer. But the logic and math behind games "game theory" is a field of it self. Often you find games like poker and roulette incorporate in a lot of things in our lives. Taking the rules of games to entice users to shop at a certain store or spend a particular amount to get a chance to win something. A lot of these jobs are based in academia so you will use grants in order to conduct surveys, tests and experiments around your area of interest. The good news is, casinos, the governments and other entities will be interested. Lastly you can also become a professional gambler.
