Is it guaranteed that I'll get a job after graduating from college?

This relates to my first question, where I asked "How can I choose a major that will benefit me in the long run?"

Nothing is guaranteed that you don't plan for. Start with something you like to do and look at careers where you can do that. Get into a college that has a program that will lead to that career. While in college, do an internship (something I regret now). This lets a company you are interested in look at you and you at them. It also puts you at the front of the line when you go for an interview or might even guarantee you a job when you leave college.

Thank you comment icon Hi there, Ayana. I would like to share with you my personal experience, which I hope will answer your question. Since my start of college, I didn't know what I wanted to do, but as my first year progressed, I realized that I wasn't the only one who is experiencing this type of situation. Also, most colleges offer federal work study, which gives you an opportunity to work while attending college. I worked on campus, and volunteered a lot. I suggest accepting the first few job offers you're given, to gain some early experiences; otherwise, it's good to spend time talking it over with your parents, and your future career advisors, whether or not to accept a job offer (i.e., consider the work environment, job responsibilities, and location; do you feel comfortable with these factors?).
