What is the market outlook for a textile designer that works for a company? ( Either for a fashion related company, things within the home such as a company for interior decoratoring/ design, or really any company related to the production of textiles)
Well I would like to be a textile designer and I've done a lot of research on it. However it can be sometimes difficult to find information on it as textile design is not one of the first things people think of for a career. Hi Hadassah, you would need to search for textiles companies that cater to home furnishings, etc. There may be free lance positions. If you are (or will be taking) any textiles courses, I would talk with the professor/ teacher to see if they know of any companies. As I don't know where you live, this may involve relocating. I recently found out about a company that is a division of Bed Bath and Beyond that specializing in this area. If you are interested in a particular company, try to contact 1 of there fabric designers to get some insight as to how they got their start. Good luck
