Hi Logan L. I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.

Adding a bit to the answers already provided, for sure **where** you do your interning will matter and can be an important standout. I would add that **what** you do while participating in the internship, can also be an important standout. Jobs and/or tasks that require you to lead a team or lead the execution of a project can be a strong positive. If you can demonstrate how your involvement in a job and/or project led to improved results, on top of having lead that team or project, those are strong standout components that future employers will want to hear about.

Hope you find this answer helpful and best of luck to you!

Hello Logan,
If you can get an internship with Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth. That would get your foot in to door with them and you can go anywhere in aerospace engineering. Best way is to network with your engineering department. I would stay away from the football team for a while.
Good luck
