Definitely look into and understand the difference between getting a certificate in EMT and an Associate's in the program. A lot of locations will not recognize an out of state or out of county certificate. A degree will always be more in depth and accepted especially if you move locations for or after college. I don't necessarily think that there is any one college that is super fantastic or known for its EMT program. Every where across the country they need EMTs definitely look into and understand the difference between an EMT and a Paramedic because that will require more schooling and comes with a pay increase. There is also medics that go on life flights. I would start at a junior college or technical college because going to a university for a program that is offered at half or even 1/8 the cost that covers the same material is worth saving if you want to get further accolades or certifications added onto your EMT degree. Hope that helps!!
