Endangered species are protected with laws (like Matt said) and in isolated environments. There are laws saying a person can't intentionally harm an animal in an endangered species like a polar bear. There are also compounds and facilities that protect animals like national parks and some zoos. People are there to protect some species as well if they are kept in captivity.
