[closed] Does anyone care sharing their experiences of management classes while in college?
Hello,
I am a senior in college and I am finishing college up pretty soon. I am going into my major of management. Would you like to share your experiences of learning concepts in a college setting? I used to have a great teacher who would present in person and through a powerpoint by not rereading every slide.
Thank you,

Hi Aimee -
Two topics I think you are hitting on in your question. The first point is the management classes. Most of my experiences, both in undergrad and graduate, were focused on decision making and even analyzing what decisions were made (reading case studies of business situations, for example) in business. So my opinion is management classes should explain decisions and steps in decision making process. That, along with your own experiences, will provide deep management experience. The second point is presentation skills. One should NEVER read from slides and should use those solely as talking points in the background. Any presentation I see the dreaded "slide read" definitely takes away my focus.

Dear Aimee,
Management is truly about certain principles applied. 1) Planning 2) coordinating 3) Deciding 4) Communicating 5) Correcting and 6) setting course.
The real work however always involved people. Thus finding people that are competent and trustworthy, and developing a relationship with your staff and personnel. You too, must be a person of high quality and high integrity and have people skills that gets the work done through a team.
The higher the position, the more distant this becomes. Yet people empowerment, takes care of the work.
