i’m thinking of doing interior design because i take an interest in art and it seems good. Unfortunately, i never picked art or anything related for GCSE meaning that i cant do it for a level. Would this affect universities accepting me?

Roshni,
This shouldn't affect schools from accepting you unless they are like big name art schools like NYU which I assume would expect you to have some familiarity. What you choose to major in at Universities is really up to you. I had a friend major in Fashion Design without any prior course knowledge of it. The only thing it could possibly affect are scholarships specifically for that area of study, but there are plenty of general scholarships that can be obtained through writing essays.

Vakia recommends the following next steps:

Research some colleges and universities with good art programs.
Ask about their requirements for Interior Design majors. You can call or email people who work in those departments.

I do not think this will hinder you being accepted to colleges. I majored in Interior Design and I took CAD classes in High School. If you can take Design classes and build a portfolio that would be a great start. Also, I went into college as an undecided student because I did not have a portfolio prepared and enrolled in intro design classes. This built my portfolio and I was selected into the program.
Art is good to have but Design classes are where you need your experience
