[closed] How do you like being a manager?

Hello,

I am a business senior in college with an interest in administration and a major of management. I love to learn about business, and I am passionate about doing things to make a company succeed. In addition, I am trying to figure out how well people like being managers. Too many people wake up for a job that they are willing to go to but are miserable about. What do you like and dislike about being a manager?

Thank you in advance,

Hi Aimee,

One of the points I like of being Manager is that you get more and more responsibilities. You can have access to a lot of the company information your boss did but you didn’t before. Being a manager you'll be more involved in planning and strategy work, which may make you feel and perceive the real value you can bring to the company. One of the other aspects I like is that you're going to be responsible for leading and motivating a team to accomplish goals for your organization.
Being manager demands to develop good working relationships with your team members. First-time leaders often default to "performance" mode, and are overly concerned about productivity and business. This doesn't work if the leader hasn't taken the time to develop good working relationships with his or her team.
What I may not like of being a manager is that you’re often brought to make some decisions that you may not agree with in confront of your team, you may assume some responsibilities even if you don’t want to, …
Don’t forget that many first-time managers learn through trial and error what works and what doesn't. The real challenge may be understanding how the skills and strengths you gained in your previous positions can help you adjust to your new role.

Wishing I could somehow give you the answer you were looking for.

Rgds.

Laurent
