Hi
Same as Donald explain , nothing in particular drove me to be a manager ...I did not wake up a morning telling to myself : I want to be a manager.
I was successful in my job and then I have been asked to drive some exposed project ( that means to lead people to achiev their missions) and based on my coaching activities I was asked to lead a team.
Managing people is first help Your people to be at ease in their tasks , make them understand where You ( Your company) want to go , help them to develop their skills to thrive in their professional paths , support them, listen to them , exchange and discuss to get adhesion.
Very intensive job , managing people and a great adventure !

Cheers

Donald’s Answer

Absolutely nothing! I get to do what I do and consider it an important part of who I am. It also allows me to do things that are socially relevant, environmentally friendly and influence the future of my industry. The most important parts of managing people include developing their skills, helping them deliver products and services and enabling them to move up in their careers. No one drives people, people are lead. You set the example and provide the feedback on performance, redirection when required and support as needed. This is very rewarding work!
