[closed] Are there any current office management trends to watch for right now?

Hello,

I am a current business student who has a concentration of administration and a major of management. My school is Concordia University, home of the proud Tornadoes. For management I realize that there are key points and tasks that should be planned for and handled appropriately. No one can predict everything about a business, but he or she can do his greatest to ensure that details and projects come through on time. In addition, my personal opinion is tha managers should hold people accountable for showing up on time as a part of professionalism. I love to request more information about business and I have a passion for what I do. Therefore, I would like to take some time outside of school to learn more about my area of interest, management. What are the trends going on right now? Would anyone like to share their thoughts about what they think the future will hold for office managers?

Thank you for the advice. #business-administration #business-management #leadership #office-management #project-management

I would say that the biggest trend and the one that has the most effect on people is technology. Technology is constantly updating and evolving and a lot of companies are implementing the latest and greatest technologies. Developing a good change management plan and an environment of acceptance of change in the organization is crucial.

Training is another area that a lot of companies are focusing on. Training attracts new employees, improves productivity, and helps with employee retention. A development plan for each employee including the training needed to take them to the next level is very important.

The third big thing would be telecommuting. More people are telecommuting now more than ever. The struggle that many managers have is how to trust that the employees are getting things done and actually working during their time telecommuting. Some managers monitor employee's online presence. I simply make sure that they are getting things done on time and are producing quality deliverables. When, they are able to do this, I can assume that they are putting their hours in when expected.
