Simeon’s Answer

My hero is Eugene Peterson. He was a very reflective and insightful writer that has brought the best out of me and several people that I've known. He advocates for a much quieter and simpler life and taking a step back from the hustle we push ourselves into.

Ulku’s Answer

My mother! She was born and raised in a small village but she had a big vision, and she became an eye surgeon. Raising two daughters, she always empowered us and told us we can be whoever and whatever we want to be if we worked hard, and she led us by example. I have never seen my mother take the easy way out in anything in life which also gave me power to make big decisions in my life.

Eric’s Answer

My father. He was a quiet, gentle man. His priorities were his faith and his family, and he never wavered from those. He instilled those in me, not so much through his words, but through his actions. His devotion to my mother was a beautiful thing; she was his girlfriend right to the end. He always had time for my sister and me, always had words of advice or encouragement, always had time to play catch or go fishing. He was always looking for something new to learn about, and he spent countless hours reading about everything he could, especially anything related to what my sister and I were studying (nursing and computer science, quite a mix!). He accepted aging and all of its challenges with grace, always grateful and never complaining. I'm so lucky to have had him in my life for so long. but still I miss him every day.
