Teresa’s Answer

I have been working for over 40 years and I still don't think I have everything figured out! For me, working and life is a journey so learning is there all along the way. That means I'm often trying new things, where I don't have a lot of experience, and so I spend time to figure something out!

Jason’s Answer

Hi Adrian,

No, you wont. But that's okay because neither will anyone else. Anyone who claims to have everything figured out is either overly simplistic or simply deceiving themselves. A wise man once told me that the most important thing is to keep the most important thing the most important thing. So that begs the question - What is the most important thing? Well my young friend that is up to you. Life will throw many surprises your way, some pleasant, others not so much but knowing what is most important will help you navigate.

Good Luck!

Gregg’s Answer

Hi Adrian,

To answer your question honestly, probably not. But that is okay and expected.

We are all growing and changing constantly. We also live in a world that changes regularly. So even if you "figure everything out" it is likely to be fleeting.

The best advice I can give comes from Walt Whitman (and Ted Lasso): Be curious, not judgmental. You may not "figure everything out" but you will have a lot more tools to try to "figure everything out" at your disposal.

Good luck!

Gregg

Crystal’s Answer

Hi Adrian!

I second Jason, but I would add that you WILL learn to do all the "adult" things eventually. But trust me, when I was in middle school or high school I thought that 23-year-olds were grown-ups and knew how to navigate life. When I turned 23, I realized how clueless those 23-year-olds were haha.

You will learn how to write a resume, submit taxes, pay for bills, and find a job, simply because that's what you will need to survive in this kind of world. You might not know everything or even how to deal with everything as it comes, but there's a lot of resources (Google, mentors, etc.) that you can reach out to who may have experience with this kind of thing. Just don't be afraid to reach out for help!
