Thank you comment icon As Michael mentioned, we cannot speak to Cape Town, South Africa. I would recommend start looking around online where you can filter out the ideal jobs based on your current situation. E.g., https://za.indeed.com/jobs?q=Student+Part+Time&l=Cape+Town,+Western+Cape Will Xue, CFA

I am glad you possess so many excellent capabilities in your character. These are all essential for all kinds of careers. You needs these elements to be success in your career in the future.
I suggest you could consider approach below to find out what is suitable for you :
1. Think about your hobbies and favourite subjects.
2. Identify any careers that relating to these subjects, e.g. if you are interested in music, would you like to be a singer, a composer, music teacher, etc. If you are interested in Maths, would you like to be an accountant, financial analyst, banker, maths teacher, etc.
3. You can find out more on these careers and choose a few you have interest
4. You can speak to someone who are working in these careers or seek the advice from your career counsellor in your school
5. Shortlist 1-2 career you would like to pursue and find out the entry criteria of the relevant subjects in the college
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

It sounds like you have great potential and are highly motivated, which is exactly what employers look for. You mentioned you are passionate about helping others. Have you considered looking at internships and jobs in which you would be helping others - ex: teacher, social worker, counselor, daycare provider, assisted living provider? It may be worth looking in to these types of positions. Keep in mind that not everybody has this passion and interest, so you'll stick out to employers if you gain some experience when you're young, like you are now. I hope this helps!

Hi Geraldine,

I am really glad you think you possess these great characteristics. That's basically you need to fit for every job there is.
First, I would recommend you to find and prepare proof/evidence/data to support your claim of these characteristics. These will help you to land your first and future jobs.
Second, as mentioned, do some research on industries and related jobs that you might have interest in. Also connect/talk to people who is in the field for the answers to the questions you might have.
Third, once you find your direction, try to apply internship or entry-level jobs and work for a year or two. This gives you time to know the industry and environment better.
Lastly, if you find yourself lost interest in the industry, you can try out other fields when you are still young.

All the best.

There are also interest inventory assessments that you can leverage. Ask your high school counselor about the availability of these assessments.
