How do I get started in the construction trades?

You could look at classes at your local community college. There are often many scholarships available for these programs through the community college's foundation. You could also take a look at Mike Rowe's "Works" Foundation.

I recommend looking for apprenticeships with construction companies that are local to you. Oftentimes, they will start new graduates out with entry level pay & teach specific trades that will lead to higher paying opportunities once the apprenticeship training is completed. This is actually a great way to make some really good money without having to invest in education.
