Santiago’s Answer

Hi Gunnar. It is not required to have a relationship with a scout in order to play baseball professionally. Typically, if you play baseball in high school college you will be surrounded by scouts.

Jeremy’s Answer

You have a great future ahead of you! Commit yourself to being disciplined - both in baseball practice, baseball games, exercise, nutrition and learning and understanding the small nuances of the game. Some people forget about the nutrition and overall athleticism of baseball players. In order to be the best baseball player and the best version of you, you need to be strong overall as it pertains to exercise, stamina and nutrition. Keep up the good work!

Hey Gunnar,

While you're waiting for someone in this field to respond, I wanted to reach out with a similar question a different student asked around scouts. You may find some of these answers to be helpful: https://www.careervillage.org/questions/518979/how-would-i-get-more-exposure-in-the-baseball-world

Both answers give some insight on how to get the attention of scouts

Keith’s Answer

Do you know anyone that knows anyone that’s a major league baseball scout? Seems like a uniquely small circle which would make it difficult but not impossible. You need to be close to the sport first and foremost. Technical expertise is required and likely comes from access to MLB franchises. Intern program would be a great option.
