Baljit’s Answer

Hi Camila,
Law school can cost a lot of money, usually the cost is above 100K. There is a lot of prep work that in involved such as the prerequisites of the course that you are taking. Community college classes at AP level often helps with some classes, but you need to know whether the classes are transferable to the post graduate course. Internships, summer jobs and volunteering also help. Volunteering could lead you to a job offer if you play you cards right. Don't forget to call admissions to the law schools that you apply to for more details about cost. Lastly, financial aid helps with some help from parents (if they can).

Shani’s Answer

Law school can be very expensive. Depending on the school (T1-T4), state and if you are attending full or part time you could be face with fees ranging from 180k to 500k just to attend law school.

There are the fee's for LSAT (which is the law school entrance exam). You can choose not to take the prep classes and do a self study but if that is the case give yourself plenty of time to study for the exam (it is not an easy exam). If you chose to take a prep course for the exam you could look to spend any where from 1000 to 3000...depending on which prep course you take and if you have personal one on one tutoring those fees could be higher.

Once you have completed law school you will then need to pay for the bar fees for which ever state you intend to sit and take their bar exam. Again this can be costly because you will have a bar prep course which can run you about 2k to 4k also if you have one on one tutoring that will cost you more. You will have bar fees that you will have to pay to the state as well in order to sit for the bar in that state. Those fees will very per state but roughly that could be up to an additional 2k.

So while you are looking at law school make sure that you have a very good understanding of the cost of each school that you are considering. There are scholarships available however you need to have a great GPA undergrad and a really good LSAT score to be competitive in applying for the scholarships. Also make sure that you understand financial aid as this is available too.

Good LUCK!

Edward’s Answer

Between $230,000 and $500,000 depending on whether you attend public schools or private schools. LSAT review and Bar exam review course cost more than $1000 total.

Edward recommends the following next steps:

work every summer and during the school years to earn about $100,000
try not to borrow, but you'll have to, to some extent
apply for merit scholarships

Atul’s Answer

I am not a lawyer but know few who are lawyers.
After passing undergraduate, take LSAT exams to get admission in the law school. Study for 3 years full time or part-time for 4-5 years.
Pass the bar in the state where you want to practice.
The state univ will be the cheapest option for you.
Fyi - LSAT is not an easy exam to pass.
