As a programmer, you could go into a variety of different professions, such as software engineer, web developer, mobile app developer, software/systems analyst, database administrator, digital design specialist, game developer, IT support specialist, UX/UI designer, tech consultant, and cloud engineer. Depending on your level of experience, expertise, and qualifications, you could also potentially transition into managerial roles such as CTO or CIO.

Thank you for your question. I am delighted to hear that you would like to become a programmer in the future.
There are many different kinds of programmer, e.g. Web, Apps, Systems, ERP, etc. Each of these types of programmers use different programming languages on different platform and also specific domain knowledge. On the other hand, Tech plays a key role in almost all industries. In other words , there is a demand of programmer in all different industries, it is not limited to Tech companies.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Take the Computer Science college to acquire better understanding on different types programming and learn different programming languages
2. Identify what type of programming and industries you have interest
3. Speak to the alumni who are working in those particular sector
4. Explore any intern opportunities
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Great question,

Really, there are a lot of options for where you can work as a computer programmer. One of the really nice things that being a programmer/ developer offers is that a lot of companies offer remote or hybrid work schedules where you can work from home five days a week, or a couple days at home a couple days in a designated office space.

As for where in terms of specific companies you can work at, that is a little more complicated. It depends on where you live and are you willing to commute or relocate for a job. Some companies will offer to pay your moving fee's and help find a new place to live. But, there is typically positions available in most towns and cities (note that larger cities usually have more job offerings). The best way to find out what companies are hiring in your area is to pull up some of the common job searching platforms like LinkedIn or Indeed. On those sites you are able to create a free account and search for specific types or jobs, where they are located at, level or experience, remote in person or hybrid, and how close you want it to be to where you are. They are usually accompanied with a job description and information about the company or a link to their website.

The options though for a programmer/ developer are very open and you will have a large selection of jobs to apply for depending on your requirement and specific things you are looking for in a role.

Hope this helps,

Programing !! How to get started about that ? Programing, or rather computer programing may be one of the most (if not the most) universal careers today and in the foreseeable future. As we depend more and more on computers and robots, the only way to go of the demand for programmers is UP. For the foreseeable future computers and robots will need instructions from humans and ultimately those instructions need to be entered as an efficient code of one kind of another. Enter the programmer.

Programming, as explained by the great professionals in this discussion, has many options. I want to address also the essence of your question "where". The best thing about the answer to that "where" is "Anywhere" !! An the answer both applies to industries and physical locations !

Programming is one of the few careers that is highly detached from a physical location and in many cases you can just work, most of the time, from the comfort of your location of choice and still be a great contributor, then your skills will be highly portable from one industry to the next. If you are passionate about this and can train yourself for the discipline it requires, for constant learning, the sky is not the limit, space is the limit.

Good Luck !!!
