What are resources for an Information Technology Degree?

hi i'm planning to take bachelor of science in information technology.. but i want to start studying since i think i have little knowledge please give me some reference or step by step way to studying thanks!! books.. website... etc anything will really help but please note if i should start there or i should study that item you guys give last. thank you very much!!!!! #science #computer #information-technology

Hello, what school are you planning to attend? It really depends on where you are going and what courses are available. Based on my experience, community colleges offer more hands on courses, universities offer theoretical courses and state colleges offer a combination of both. I.T. is a very general and broad field. I would recommend finding a couple of schools that you plan on going to and looking through the curriculum. There are a bunch of free sites for programming:

Hi,
I saw your post and thought I would reply. I started out in college as a Computer Programmer, then I
joined the military and left the computer field. I have worked for Dell over the last 15 years and have learned a lot about the comupter industry by doing sales, and working on the business side of IT. I will suggest the link below to learn about the entire field of IT/Computers...it is a huge field with so many interesting career paths.

I would advise finding an area that interests you, checking out the courses in the degree plans at your college and then picking one...you can always change degree plans after any semester and you can take specific elective courses in your personal areas of interest. Do not worry too much about making mistakes, you are young and have your whole life ahead of you...even if you find that you are not interested in a specific area or course, you can always learn something from it.

Hello there,

Why don't you try reading the following book and see what your mood be after that "The Art of Computer Programming" by Donald Knuth? I am serious and I am not taking any shortcuts in answering your question.

Personally I would encourage any newcomer to the ICT world taking a glance and see for herself/himself whether this is indeed the area h/she wants to pursue.
