Hello, Noura !

I am glad that you've decided to come here to Career Village to obtain initial information and advice about becoming an Attorney in Egypt. Hopefully, we can provide you with information that will make things seem more clear for you. If you have an interest in both Political Science as well as Law, that is wonderful because lawyers need to know government law and constitutional law and political scientists or politicians need to know the law. They interact and interplay with each other, so learning political science while in undergraduate college for your Egyptian Pre-Law degree will benefit you greatly.

A Lawyer is some who assists people when they need Legal Counsel outside and inside of a courtroom. A Political Science person is someone who is a Politician, can help create laws and serve in very many other capacities in your political system where they hold a special office within your government.

To follow a path in your country to become a Lawyer, you would first go for your Bachelors Degree as a Pre-Law Major. When you choose a university to attend, you can read about their Pre-Law major program and see what courses you will have to take. Some really good universities in Egypt to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Pre Law are Alexandria University Faculty of Law, Assiut University Faculty of Law, Ains Shams University Faculty of Law, American University in Cairo Law Department, Al-Shar University Faculty of Islamic Jurisprudence and Law and Cairo University Faculty of Law, Orman.

The next step would be to take your country's Law School Admission Test. You then enroll in Law School for three years and take and pass the Egyptian Bar Exam and then you can practice Law. It is a duration of seven years total of college. If this sounds good to you, you may want to explore being a Lawyer even further.

There are a few ways that you can explore what it is like to be a Lawyer in Egypt. There are websites, books and videos that you can watch to start learning what it is like to be a Lawyer in Egypt. I have left a link below for you to a video about the law professions in your country. If you decide to become a Lawyer while you are still in secondary school, you can consider taking classes in History, Government and any other classes related to Law. If you have any other questions, do feel free to return here to Career Village and we would be happy to give you some advice and information.

Best wishes in deciding on a career choice !

Ah, the classic “Should I pick political science or law?” dilemma—kind of like deciding between being a Jedi or a Sith, right? Both paths can lead to impressive things, so here’s a breakdown with a sprinkle of humor to clear up the confusion!

Political Science: Think of it as the “behind the scenes” of government and politics. You’ll dive into how societies function, political theories, international relations, and how policies shape the world. It’s like being the mastermind behind the political stage, but without necessarily wearing a judge's robe. If you love debates, world issues, and figuring out why politicians act the way they do (without pulling your hair out), political science might be your gig!

Law: Now, if you love rules, arguing your case, and dressing like you're about to deliver a powerful speech in a courtroom, law might be your fit. It’s about interpreting and applying laws, fighting for justice, and, yes, occasionally playing detective (with more paperwork than crime-solving). If you get excited about defending someone’s rights, solving legal puzzles, and thinking on your feet, law could be your calling.

How to tell if law is for you? Well, do you love arguing (constructively, of course) and making strong points? Do you get a rush when solving problems or defending something important? Can you imagine yourself confidently walking into a courtroom, speaking in front of a crowd, and going full “lawyer mode”? If yes, law might just be your arena! Plus, if you love researching, understanding how systems work, and working through complicated legal issues, then you’re on the right path.

In short, Political Science = Big ideas and understanding the world’s rules while Law = Applying those rules to fight for justice. The question is, do you want to shape the world, or do you want to defend it in a courtroom? Either way, you’ve got a bright future ahead—you just need to figure out which robe you want to wear: the politician’s or the lawyer’s!

Hope that helps clear things up! 💼✨
