The school subjects required to become a news anchor in India include Investigative Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Writing for Communications, Communication Law, and Mass Communications. These subjects in particular enable potential anchors have the knowledge and skills necessary to be confident and able when performing their duties. As a communications major that has taken all of the subjects listed, I feel this holds true for myself as well.

Relevant internship experience, and work experience in smaller cities would be an added advantage.
Work either at a news desk or as a reporter for a while at a low key news channel. Say maybe three to six months.
Learning the craft in small markets provides necessary training if a broadcast journalist wants to
work their way up and become successful anchors.
Once you know people in the channel, you can express interest in anchoring.
Practice anchoring and give a screen test.

Find something you are really passionate about-movies, music, the environment, food...whatever it is, ask as many questions as you can and talk to professionals in that industry. The key to being a journalist is being curious. Your job is to convey the information you learned in a relatable and engaging way for your audience. Take a writing, public speaking, video production, and audio production class. In order to be an anchor, usually you have to also understand all of the moving technological parts and work your way up. Don't give up.

Much like in America there are levels to becoming a Journalist in India. The first step would be to discern all things involving jouranlims/media during one's free time. Second step being to find anytype of work involving media whether an internship or a receptionist at Multi-Media Company. Third, obtain a degree relating to a specific field you would like to cover as a journalist. For example, if racism interests you. Major in History with a focus on civil rights movements.

First and foremost, reporting and writing 1 and 2... these are the fundamentals of journalism. Whether it’s print, online, or broadcast. Second, practice explaining complex situations in easy to understand and conversational ways, this draws the audience in. Third: learn to shoot, edit, prepare to be an on camera reporter, write broadcast scripts, fact check, find sources, find compelling stories and shoot a lot of b-roll... and the key of all be a good interviewer. Be inquisitive and never presume that you know everything. Always be curious. Always ask for help. And always practice... even the matter you speak has to be clear for the audience to understand... no ,uh, or , ohs,. You are the captain and along with your newsroom you’ll do fine.

I just attended my first lecture for the Journalism course today.
The thing i wanted to tell you that if you are a good speaker,good news reader and good knowledge of current affairs then you can apply for news anchor. Because today i met a girl and she was already news anchor in GTPL news channel and now she started journalism,but her skills are outstanding. She started journalism only for good growth.
