Hello Gavin,

As mentioned by others, there are numerous careers in the medical field. You can explore these options by visiting the Occupational Outlook Handbook at https://www.bls.gov/ooh/. For instance, entering "medical" in the search box will lead you to a list of occupations in healthcare at https://www.bls.gov/ooh/healthcare/. There, you can find information about salaries, related occupations, job growth, and more.

Hi Gavin! In the medical field, there are a lot of jobs besides doctors and nurses. One is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) and that's what I do! I work in the lab testing things like blood and body fluids to give doctors important info to help diagnose and treat patients. Some universities even offer CLS programs for undergrads, so you can start training for it right after high school. To become a CLS, you usually need a science degree, some hands-on lab experience, pass a certification test, and meet any state requirements. There's actually a shortage of CLS workers right now, so job prospects are really good!
