In terms of event advertising, what are some key tips to help promote and increase participant turn-out?
I served as President and Director of Marketing for my Residence Hall Council. As result, I had to make several flyers promoting the events we were hosting. Thanks to some of my prior art and design classes, I had some understanding of what captured people's attentions. However, I knew there was more to what I was doing. We tried different tactics to get the word out to our residents, hoping more people would start showing up to the events. Is there any advice that you could offer for future advertising and marketing ventures? I am an Outdoor Recreation major and would love to have a job that deals with planning and execution of activities, events, camps, etc. and I believe this would be valuable information to have going in. #marketing #advertising #event-planning #planning #service #commercial #outdoor-recreation #promotion

What is your favorite part of your job?
I am currently deciding on whether to major in journalism, advertising, public relations, or media studies and would love to read some input on what your favorite and least favorite parts of your job is. Some of the more important aspects when searching for a career that best suits me is a stable salary, if I will be paid to travel, the amount of creativity allowed, and how much vacation time I would receive. I look forward to reading your responses! xoxo #journalism #communications #advertising #social-media #public-relations #youtube #blogging
Is journalism a dying breed?
I am a high school freshman and have always loved writing. I am currently involved with a journalism class in my high school where we produce on eight page newspaper every month. Starting in September 2016, I will be the new page editor for our Features page. My lust towards writing and journalism has grown vastly ever since I enrolled in this class and I know this is what I want to study in college and ultimately what I want to do with my life. My parents, on the other hand, are extremely skeptical about me wanting to pursue journalism in college. They believe that there is no money, let alone jobs available for aspiring journalists. They suggest that I go into a more practical field involving writing such as advertising or public relations. So... Is it true that if I study journalism in college there may not be a job for me after graduation? #journalism #advertising #author #writer #public-relations #youtube #online-journalism
Best way to enter the entertainment industry on the business side
Hi everyone, I am currently a junior in college, and my professional future seems to be directed towards advertising. After an internship in marketing in general, I am interning this summer in an ad agency, on the data analysis side. Yet, my dream is to work in the entertainment industry, on the business side, either as an agent or in a studio. I was wondering what you would recommend to enter this industry where network is everything. Is it worth it to start as an assistant (at the bottom of the food chain) and then become an agent, potentially later switching to a studio? Or would you recommend starting in another industry (advertising for instance) and then switch over at a later date, probably higher up in the hierarchy? And more generally, what is your opinion on this industry? Thank you very much for your help! #marketing #entertainment #advertising #career-change #entertainment-industry #digital-advertising #entertainment-marketing

How can I express myself in a career that's hard to find work in?
I wanted to do something in medicine, but when I realized that the bachelor degree I got didn't matter too much I looked for careers that I could get a job with and not be opposed to doing for a while. I decided to do Accounting or Finance with a Business minor since it isn't a difficult career to get a job with and I figured it could help me later on. But then I started looking into different job openings on buzzed after watching videos on behind the scenes and how they do what they do and I didn't realize it but I really enjoy filmography, design, art and such and now I don't know what to do because it has occurred to me that doing what I want is nearly impossible since careers in anything artsy or creative are extremely hard to make money with. I want to be happy and do something that lets me express myself but as a senior in high school who is starting college in the fall and I don't know what to do. #design #video-games #film #advertising #fine-art #production #online-gaming

Should i try different jobs that are completely unrelated to my degree or go and find one that i really wanted?
So, i just recently moved here in states and i'm a fresh graduate with a degree in Bachelor in Advertising and Public Relations. I was blessed to moved here right after grad but unfortunately, i haven't been into the real world of advertising. I'm finding it hard to find a job that is an entry level and is completely related to my field. Many people here told me to find a job first which is not related to advertising, i did that. I had two part-time jobs (retail sales associate and bookseller) just to gain experience and additional skills, now that i am both endo (unemployed) to the said jobs, i am so desperate to set my footsteps on advertising door. I am sending my resumes to different agencies but i know i lack the experience which makes it hard for me to get employed. I'm kinda feeling down now and depressed. Can someone give me an advice on what should i do? I feel like i'm a burden to my family because of unemployment :( #help #advice #advertising #giving-advice #depression #seattle #personal-development #marketing-and-advertising #career-details

How would I go about preparing myself for handling the pressures of leading a small team and working late nights developing different advertising and marketing strategies?
Knowing that I want to major in marketing so I can become a marketing manager, I poked around online to see what different jobs and positions require. The job seems to require a lot of leadership and hours of work. I want to know if I can start early on developing ways to handle that pressure and not become overwhelmed by the loads of work. Are there different types of advertisers?
I am a junior at Boston Collegiate Charter School and I'm very interested in the topic of advertising, under the overall umbrella of marketing. As I continue to think about the right college for me, the decision is highly based upon the choice of study. I've thought about my natural skills with drawing, so art may be something I pursue. Journalism has always caught my attention, with broadcasting and media analysis. However, these interests have sprung out of my initial focus: advertising. I can advertise with works of art, and I can advertise products, like journalists do, on certain TV news channels. Generally, I like to expand my horizons. I'd like to know what various types of advertisers there are and what companies could I work for? #marketing #journalism #advertising
