How do you become an animator and illustrator at the same time?
So, I read a Q&A from a professional Background (BG) Artist a few days ago. The BG said "a illustration skills don’t always translate to animation." So, it made me wonder more about the differences between the two fields. They're both art-based careers, yet there's some differences I don't know yet. (I mean...besides the fact that animation is about making still images come to life vs illustration just being still art). I know many animators are illustrators, but I don't know how they manage to do both. I may want to do both, too, in the future. Are there any differences in preparing to study for either career? What are some differences between learning illustration vs animation?

Inquiries on Animation-related job?

Where (other than California) would I be able to find good, tangible work as an animator?
I want to pursue animation as a possible career in the future and I'm wondering where I need to go to find a good job once I'm done with college. Where would I even start as well? I've heard of legendary cartoonists jump starting their career by merely having a good idea to pitch and a talent for animation but I have no clue who I'd pitch an idea to nor where I should be looking. #artist #career #college #animation #art #job

Animation industry
I stepped away from an art college because it was extremely overwhelming, it was super competitive and the workload left me in tons of panic attacks. I also couldn't afford the tuition. Its been awhile (cause of covid) and now im thinking of going back to community for two years to start my minor first and do my major at a 4 year at animation but im worried that i wont like the field as much as i admire it, i work a bit slower when it comes to art it brings out my best work and i want to learn more but a part of me if afraid. Does the animation industry have more cons than pros, will i enjoy working in a competitive field?
What are the steps in creating your own animation?
I was recently inspired by how animations seem more detailed and animated. I'd notice how in most cartoons, their mouth flaps seem like they're pronouncing each word clearly. And the storyline for most cartoons inspire me to pursue animation. I want to bring characters to life and tell stories. #animation #art #artist #design #story #webseries #disney
