Is it wise to study for a Masters when most of the jobs you are looking for requires only a Degree? How much more powerful is a Masters compared to a Degree?

I'm someone who is focused on lifelong learning, and I would prefer to stick to learning more about the world around me, rather than starting work so early and simply watch the money come in. Most adults tell me that once you see those digits in your banks account go up, very few would want to go back to studying. By the way, if I'm correct, this is pertaining to Investment Banking in particular. May be applicable to other fields too. #computer-software #medicine #university #biomedical-engineering #investment-management #astronomy #academic-advising #investment-banking

What clubs/organizations should I take while possibly majoring in astronomy?

I want to major in astronomy (and possibly minor in computer science) and try to get at least a bachelor's degree and at most a master's degree. For the longest time I wanted to work at NASA but I also understand that to get any job relating to astronomy I need to do internships and possibly be part of a club or an organization that can be associated with majoring in astronomy. #astronomy #organization #clubs #astronomer

Is it better to attend a smaller or larger university?

I am interested in pursuing astrophysics and computer science. The colleges I'm looking at with appealing programs in those fields range from CalTech to Penn State. If it does come down to a decision, what is your opinion on larger vs. smaller institutions? The former tends to have better facilities/connections while the latter is likely to provide more of an individualized focus. It of course depends on many other factors, but I'm interested in the pros/cons of this aspect in particular. #computer-science #physics #astronomy #astrophysics

What is the job outlook like for astronomers? Astrophysicists?

The University I plan on attending this fall has an Astronomy and Astrophysics program. I've always been interested in space, and like math, so was considering majoring in it. The only thing putting me off from deciding on this major is that I'm concerned about job prospects. I know a lot of pure science fields don't have the best prospects, or pay. #science #mathematics #physics #astronomy #astrophysics

What is it like working for NASA on a day to day basis?

I am a fifteen year old sophomore in high school and I have always been fascinated in space technology and NASA, in general. My parents and I traveled to Washington D.C. about two years ago, and one of my favorite places was Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum. I was completely blown away with everything I learned and observed! This led me to wonder about what kind of jobs people could have working for NASA, or what some popular jobs may be? Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated! #science #technology #aerospace #astronomy #robotics #astrophysics #space #nasa
