How far can I expect to get in the biochemistry field with a bachelor's degree?

I'm a high school senior and will be entering my freshman year of college in the fall. While I haven't made any final decision as to what I will be majoring in (and I know my interests may shift within the next few years - I'm looking at biochemistry and chemical/biochemical engineering at the moment). I'm curious as to what I can expect within the biochemistry field directly out of college. What are the job prospects, and what will the pay typically be? Would it be more beneficial to pursue a master's degree directly after earning a bachelor's? #biochemistry #biochemist

Are the prospects for chemistry truly as bad as people make them out to be?

Initially, I was really interested in majoring in chemistry/biochemistry (I realize the two are very different, but was leaning towards chemistry) this coming fall, but from what I've read online, chemists don't seem to have great job prospects. I've read of PhD students struggling to make over $50k a year, as well as the overall shortage of long-lasting (see: not temp) jobs in the field. Though chemistry interests me, I honestly don't want to find myself at a dead end with tons of student debt and no way to pay it off. Thanks :) #science #chemistry #biochemistry #job-market #organic-chemistry

What is the difference between medical school and graduate school in terms of biochemistry?

I have been trying to find detailed information as to how both are different but most websites either give the superficial information or they only talk about how they are similar. I do not know what path to choose so I want to be able to know the difference between the two. I know medical school is expensive and mind-breaking but the degree has higher value and you get to be recognized. Thing is I don't want to be a doctor I want to be the one performing research and test trials. On the other hand, graduate school focuses on research and the price is durable but the value of the degree is less in a way? So like what is the difference...#medicalschool #graduateschool #biochemistry #research

How do scientific researchers come up with their ideas?

I'm an 11th grader in some biotechnology classes, and it's got me very interested in pursuing a career in medical research. However, I don't really understand how researchers come up with their ideas. Is there a list out there to choose from, or do people come up with them themselves? Because I've been trying and never came up with anything.

When do I begin studying for the MCAT?

I just finished my first year as an undergraduate student. I'm majoring in biochemistry and minoring in psychology. I know these two fields are very helpful for the MCAT. (I am very interested in those fields as well, so it was not the only reason I chose them.) When did you begin studying for the MCAT, and would it be too soon if I began prepping now? I got an MCAT practice app recently and do a few questions a day. #JULY20 #premed #college #physician #mcat #study #medical #biochemistry #psychology
