I've heard conflicting statements about this. Some people have told me that pure science fields (not engineering, just research etc) are getting harder to find jobs in. Is this true? #science #biology #jobs #research #chemistry #job-market
How can I be sure that this is the field I want to go into?
My future can change at any moment, why would I want to stick to the plan of going into a STEM field? I've always loved science, but what if there is a different option I could go for not in the STEM field? Would it be worth it? #college #biology #bachelors-degree
Which college provides the best programs for both science and teaching?
I am interested in both biology and education, so I was wondering which colleges or universities (preferably Northeast) have the best programs for these two careers. #science #teaching #biology #education #ecology #environmental-services #evolutionary-biology #biology-teacher
For those interested in pursuing a career in ecology and evolutionary biology, what types of jobs are available that involve working in the field with real organisms?
I have always been very interested in biology and animals, so when I discovered the ecology and evolutionary biology major at most prestigious schools, I thought it would be perfect! However, I know that I am a very hands on learner who would prefer to be out in the environment as opposed to at a desk, so I was wondering what types of jobs would allow me to do this. #biology #animals #environment #ecology #environmental-services #evolutionary-biology #field-work #animalscience
Is a general biology degree worth it?
I was wondering if I should make my focus on general bio if I want to go to med school or if should go to microbiology or something along those lines #medicine #college-major #biology
What is the best course(s) to take for a degree in environmental sciences specifically in wastewater?
I need a degree to further my career in wastewater treatment. I have 14 years on the job at a treatment plant and I have a Class IV Wastewater Operator license and an Advanced Industrial license. #biology #biochemistry #microbiology
What's the best program to apply for nursing? Where should I start?
I live in Visalia, CA and i'm a senior at El Diamanté High. I want to prepare what program is more efficient and where should i start looking. There's so much varieties of nursing programs in California and even in the world, but i don't know which is the best and which is more affordable. After college I want to be better prepared for something like this in the future. #nursing #biology #nurse-practitioner #japan #registered-nursing
what is the most inspired course you have taken?
As a high school student, you suppose to take many classes as you want. But there are some courses that will be your favorite and determine your career path. So I want to ask many students about their stories, which we can share many variety information and come up with a better answer for ourselves about career path. #computer-software #science #biology #healthcare #marketing #mathematics #foreign-languages #genetics
What all do cognitive psychologists do?
I have liked psychology and been interested in it. I especially am interested in thinking and how people do it and why. However, i also like the way the biological portions of neurology come into play with the brain and how it works. So i am wondering what it is that cognitive psychologists do in contrast to cognitive neuroscience or neuroscientists in general. #science #psychology #biology #neuroscience #cognitive-psychology
As a woman hoping to enter the field of neuroscience, what are the best ways to combat the idea that cutting-edge STEM fields are better suited to men?
As a future psychologist, neuroscientist, and/or neurobiology researcher, I am concerned about the male-centric views surrounding STEM fields. As a feminist, though, I won't let this deter me. I am only wondering how other women studying and/or working in STEM, especially in psychology or neuroscience, deal with people/situations who try to challenge the increasing involvement of women in STEM. What are things that you can say to people, men or women, who ask why you chose STEM instead of a more "feminine" job? How do you inform people about the need for women in STEM? #psychology #biology #research #therapy #neuroscience #sexism #gender #neurobiology
Would you recommend pursuing grad school for someone who wants to work with animals in the wild or in conservatories?
I want to either research animals in the wild, or work with injured or endangered animals in a conservatory. Do you think I could pursue this with an undergrad degree in biology or zoology, or would I need to continue on to grad school? #science #biology #research #animals #environmental-science #zoology #animal-conservation #animal-science
Do you find that some colleges are better for Zoology or Biology majors and if so what are they?
I am a senior who is interested in going into Biology with a concentration in Zoology or a Zoology major. I would prefer a college in the Midwest but I am willing to find a college somewhere else in the United States as long as it has a good academic program. #biologist #zoologist #biology #science #college-selection
What are the first steps for an aspiring surgeon to take in college? Should I particularly be majoring in a biology related study?
I am currently a senior in high school, and it's the eve of college applications. Going though two surgical procedures myself, I was always intrigued by the willingness and determination of a surgeon's work ethic and I figured it was inevitable that I would want to pursue a career in that profession. So, I am inquiring on whether I should take a biology major this upcoming year and would like any notes or advice on this topic. #medicine #biology #surgeon
Where do forensic scientists work?
I know that many forensic scientists work in laboratories and even police stations, but who hires them? Where would I go to to apply after I graduate from college? Is it through the government? Or are there private companies that can help with private parties? #science #biology #chemistry #government #forensic-science #courts
How much room is there for me to grow?
I really enjoy team management too, so I was wondering if I would be able to be promoted or move up after so many years of experience. I would also need to know if a lot of team work goes on in the laboratory. #science #biology #management #chemistry #laboratory #team-leadership #teamwork #forensic-scientist
What does a regular work day of forensic scientists consist of?
I want to know how often I will be preforming experiments, collecting data, analyzing data, or collaborating with a team so that I know that it is the best fit for me. #science #biology #chemistry #criminology #laboratory #crime-scene-investigator #forensic-science #teamwork
Are there only certain forensic scientists that are asked to go crime scenes to investigate and gather data?
I am physically disabled and I enjoy and prefer working in lab settings. I wouldn't be comfortable with going to crime scenes and having to be extra careful with my steps or worrying about how I will help gather evidence if I have to squat or be in positions that are difficult for me to get in. If a large part of this career is being present at the crime scene for evidence collection, I may reconsider my decision. #science #biology #chemistry #criminology #laboratory #detective #crime-scene-investigator #forensic-science

How do you find a good place to intern for Biology?
I know that I could probably find a professor that could use my help, but how do I approach them so that I can work by their side. It would be great to be paid, but I don't have to be(that's more a graduate degree thing anyway). I'm about to graduate high school and would like the lab experience. Any time of year. #biology #internships #college-bound #marine-biology
If I take a Biology course, how to I transfer that to a Marine Biology course and have many Minors?
I'm a small town senior getting ready to graduate and I don't really have anyone to help me prepare for college. I know I have to get a bachelors in Biology and then somehow 'specialize' in Marine but I also want to major in oceanography and engineering. I want to get my PhD so that I can research on my own but don't know how to get there. #college #college-major #biology #graduate-school #architecture #marine-biology #college-minor #oceanography
