What are the most difficult classes that engineering students are required to take?
I hear that the required classes for an engineering degree are rigorous. I have a calculus class right now, and I am doing fine, but how much harder are the classes in college compared to high school? Renewable Fuels of today?
I am a rising senior and have been thinking about the field of chemical engineering. I know chemical engineers are involved in many fields ranging from the make and testing of medicines to the making of a renewable fuel. I was wondering if there have been any recent studies being done on renewable fuels? If so do you know if they have made it onto the market yet or not? #chemical-engineering #renewable-energy
What major for interests in sustainable/alternative/nuclear power engineering/generation, sustainable urban planning, architecture, research, material science, civil infrastructure...?
Hello! I am a high school senior trying to apply to colleges and figure out my major, but I feel very indecisive. I'd like to have opportunities to research and develop new technologies and alternative energies!! Maybe even in a nuclear plant!? And also solutions to dealing with nuclear waste and stuff like that. I want to design efficient and environmentally friendly solutions to energy problems. As well as implementing electrical power systems in the world as well. And of course, chemistry is super interesting I've also been creative my whole life, and growing up in a plain city, I really love looking at and, on rare occasions, visiting places with interesting, beautiful, and tall buildings, as well as appreciating inviting designs that promote sustainability and walkability and I would love to contribute to a more beautiful world in this way as well. So maybe architecture/architectural engineering would be good for me? I also am really excited about civil engineering labs (I hear you get to build stuff? Cool!!) I also have an interest in getting into the nitty-gritty of situations and hashing out the details as well as the big picture. On an unrelated note, I've also had an interest in videogame design + programming, graphic design, and animation my whole life. Are there any good colleges with clubs like this where I can grow my skills in these areas, but still focus on engineering and do well? Is there any other factors I should consider when picking a major? Or anything else I could look into to get to know myself a bit more and see what I really prefer? Any options to somehow do everything I just listed?? Also I am learning about hydraulic engineering and I really like the sound of it a LOT but AHHHH there's so much and ofc transportation but mostly you already know the rest of the stuff I wrote.. I know most of this points to maybe like Civil Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering and a concentration in Structural engineering,, but I really am going to be sad forever that I won't be a physicist or a energy engineer or a researcher or a hydraulic engineer or a nuclear engineer... Maybe I could do architecture in the future but yeah 😭😭 Also I really wanted to do physics for a while could I start my education all over again when I'm older and have a career and do research
I was told chemical engineering is relatively niche among engineering disciplines, is this true?
I am a senior in high school but don't know which engineering discipline to go into. Chemical engineering used to be my top choice but I was told it is too niche. What options exist for employment and job prospects?
What type of work do chemical engineers do at different companies?
After identifying my goals and narrowing down some choices chemical engineering seems like a career of a great fit. I will be attending Georgia Tech this fall and am now thinking of creating career goals. This made me think about what is the day like for chemical engineers that work at well-known companies like Apple, Colgate, Microsoft, Lush... #chemical-engineering #engineering #engineer #career
What is a good way to find out as to which engineering pathway I want to go into?
I am a high school student, and I tend to do well in math and science classes. I enjoy them as well, so I am considering going to college for an engineering degree, but there are so many types of engineering! What is a good way to get exposure to many of the different pathways so that I have a better idea of what type of engineering I would want to pursue? #engineering #mechanical-engineering #civil-engineering #computer-engineering #electrical-engineering #software-engineering #chemical-engineering #industrial-engineering
What are the most challenging things in trying to engineer new products or technologies?
I am a freshman in high school; thus, I have a little while to think about my possible career paths. I have always wanted to go into the medical field until recently, when engineering caught my eye. I always see companies coming up with the newest technologies that can do extraordinary things such as save lives or make daily chores almost nonexistent. I know that technology is always morphing and improving based on findings, but I always have wondered if it is stressful to try and think of new devices that will be the future of society. I feel as if that would put me under too much pressure and I wouldn't be able to enjoy my job. Is that not the case? #engineering #mechanical-engineering #civil-engineering #computer-engineering #electrical-engineering #software-engineering #chemical-engineering #industrial-engineering

Can I become a cosmetic scientist by graduating with a degree in chemistry? Or do I have to graduate as a chemical engineer?
The college I go to won’t let me transfer to their college of engineering so I can’t become a chemical engineer. My only other option is to major in chemistry? I don’t know if a degree in chemistry can get me a job as a cosmetic scientist.
What are the best ways to find someone to interview?
Hello! I’m a high school junior looking for someone to interview for my engineering class. The only requirements are that they are from an engineering or tech heavy background although personally i’m very interested in science or programming related fields so that would be preferable. I would also prefer that they live in/are from/went to School in my state-north carolina, but that’s not a requirement. I tried linked in and googling to find professionals near me but the majority of what came up was add listings. Does anyone have advice on how I can find someone in that field who would be interested in an interview?
How did you decide on what you wanted to be?

Can a chemical engineer work in the pharmaceutical industry?
Can a chemical engineer work in the pharmaceutical industry, where they might create new medicines, synthetic versions of existing medicines, or use cells to help understand diseases, disease pathways, and human responses to drugs? If so can you please advise on the degree and pathway needed to peruse this career.
I'm a chemical engineering graduate and I hate this degree. I've always wanted to be a doctor and even after doing well at school, i was unable to get a place to study medicine. Now I'm stuck with this degree and I dont know what to do. Please help.
I initially chose chemical engineering as I thought that I could get into the pharmaceutical engineering side of the industry and I knew that they were sought after in the finance sector. Unfortunately my applications haven't worked out and there's no scope for chem eng in pharmaceuticals in my country. The idea of working on a chemical plant away from the city in overalls isn't for me and I know I screwed up really badly and i feel like a complete failure. I'm also not in a financial position where I can study another degree. I want to help people and not be stuck in a job because the money is good but my happiness is minimal. #engineering #chemical-engineering #medicine #healthcare #college #hospital-and-health-care

Is it better to get a degree in chemistry or chemical engineering?
I'm a rising high school senior at a school that has allowed me to graduate high school with a associates degree in liberal arts, and I was thinking of applying to a college where I could get at least a bachelor's in Chemical engineering, thinking of going into a pharmaceutical job. I really enjoyed my chemistry and biology classes and thought this would be a good position for me to look into. Would it be best to geta. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or would another degree entirely be best. Thanks!

How can I get a research internship this summer?
I'm currently in a high school junior in Brooklyn, NY. I would like to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for mechanical or chemical engineering. Are there any good websites I can learn some of this stuff on my own, potentially creating something in my high school career?
What should i do if i want to major in chemical engineering but the university im planning to go to doesn’t offer said program. I was thinking of majoring in materials science and engineering and getting a minor in chemistry. Could that potentially land me any chemical engineering jobs, or should I reconsider what im planning to do?
