Does it really matter where you go to college?
I plan to major in piano and voice performance with a minor in psychology, and then start private music lessons. Does it matter where I go to college, or should I try to get into one that is more prestigious in the realm of music performance? I kind of want to go to a Christian college that is closer to home, but obviously they aren't really known for music performance so I'm just wondering what I should do.
Did your university assist you in your collegiate career?
I never saw a single person about my future and the avenues i could travel when I was getting my bachelors degree. I was not spoken to a single bit except for responses to professors. They had their great jobs, but what was mine? Why didn't I receive any guidance at a very influential time at my life which could assist me in the future? #college-major #college-admissions #recruiting #career-goals

I just want to know if that is something certain schools look for. #lgbtqa #lgbt #college #college-admissions

Is changing my schedule worth it for technical school ?
My school offers a program where juniors and seniors can apply to leave for their first two blocks to go to technical school. They earn four elective credits per year for this and can even earn college credit. They still have to earn enough credits to graduate, so sacrifices have to be made. In my case I would like to apply for their engineering and robotics program. Since I’ll only have two classes a day, I won’t be able to take a lot of the classes I want to. These are AP Calc C (I can take BC the previous year instead of AB), two additional years of French (including French 4 and AP), two years of band (I’ve been doing band since fourth grade; I play seven instruments), AP Comp Sci A, AP Chem (I’ve loved chemistry since third grade), and AP Psych. Will this look bad for college? Is it worth it?
Is it true that it is easy for IITians to get into MBA programmes in top business schools abroad? Is it impossible for students from other institutes (like MSRIT, etc.) who are equally qualified with GMAT scores?
I've heard that most of the students from india who get into mba programmes abroad are IITians and very few of the students of other institutes in India get into the same programme. Is it a myth or reality and why?
What colleges/universities should I apply to?
Hi, I'm a high school junior who's trying to figure out which colleges to apply to in August. I want to major in Mechanical Engineering. I want to go out of state for college and to one that's known for its engineering program. The problem is money. I'm interested in the University of Florida and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign but I don't know if they give good financial aid, especially to a student from out of state. I have 4.0 gpa unweighted, have been taking concurrent enrollment since the ninth grade, will graduate with also graduate high school an associate's of science, and have some pretty alright extracurriculars. I just barely took the ACT, so I don't know my score yet but think it'll be around 29-32. I also qualify for maximum financial aid from the FAFSA. What colleges would be a good fit for me, especially since my financial situation is very bad?

What are my chances of getting admitted to Vanderbilt?
Vanderbilt is a goal of mine. What are my chances so far as a Tennessee resident junior with 35 ACT composite, 4.0 GPA, multiple APs (all 5s so far), but basically no extracurriculars because of my family situation? I'm learning how to program via an online python course and am also working on my own solo game project. Would that be enough to circumvent the lack of extracurriculars and get me admitted to such a prestigious school? Any other suggestions or advice is greatly welcomed. Thank you!

I am taking Physiology . . . Should I drop it?
I am a senior in high school and I am enrolled in a Physiology course at my school. It has been a month since school started and I have been struggling with Physiology. The entire course is based on memorization and that tends to be hard for me sometimes. I have taken Biology and Geology in my previous years and some of the colleges I am interested in require 3 years of science to be eligible to admission. It is too far into the year to switch into another science course, so I don't know what to do. I have looked into BYU Independent Online courses but they cost money. I still would like to have broad range of schools that I would be eligible to apply to, but this will put a limit to where I can go. #college-admissions #high-school-classes
