Which schools have the best programs for transfer students?

I will be graduating this May with an associate's degree. I'm looking for schools that have human resources or business administration programs that will accept all or most of my 70 credits. I've been looking around at the colleges in my area. I'm asking for a second opinion. #college #college-major #college-bound #human-resources #college-selection

What are the benefits of being a boy scout?

A few of my friends have recently gotten involved in scouting, and it seems like it takes up a lot of their time. Some of them tell me that they are doing it so they can put in on their college applications. Do colleges value boy scouts (or eagle scouts, for that matter)? Is it something that I should consider doing? #college #college-admissions #leadership #college-bound #college-selection #time-management

Are AP tests worth taking?

I was told that as a senior in high school, AP Classes won't really help you for college as your applications are already processed and it's better to take the actual classes in college instead of trying to skip them by passing the AP Exams. #college #college-admissions #college-bound #high-school-classes

How do I know if studying abroad is for me?

I have never traveled alone or been away from my family for more than a few weeks. However, I love to travel and I am considering getting a degree in Europe or Australia. These programs are also so much cheaper than USA programs and have less requirements. Yet, I am worried that I might feel 'culture' shock as their educational systems are quite different from USA. #college #graduate-school #college-bound #travel #study-abroad #academic-advising

Does commuting strip a person of their college experience?

My sister who is a dormer has always lamented to me how important it is to dorm and move away from home. She emphasized on the key phrase "college experience." Instead of listening to her, I am opting to commute because of the internships available for my major in the city. I am wondering if commuting will undermine my college experience as well as development of skills like independence. #college #college-admissions #college-bound #college-selection #college-advice

Quarter system vs semester system?

I'm applying for colleges right now, and I noticed that many of the colleges/universities that I am looking at implement different kind of systems, namely the quarter system and the semester system. In my current high school, I am in a semester system, and I think that the pace of my classes are fair. However, I'm concerned that if I were to go to a college where they implemented a quarter system, I may fall behind and feel overwhelmed by the amount of work that I would have to learn & do. How different is a quarter system from a semester system? What are the benefits and disadvantages of each? #college #college-major #college-admissions #college-bound #time-management

How do you balance your schoolwork and your social life?

I've been in college for one year, and I'm currently in my second year. College has been much harder on me than I expected it to be, and I often find myself spending the majority of my time studying for my classes. I want to go out and have fun, but I see my friends and classmates studying and working on personal projects, and it makes me feel like I should do the same to be able to get ahead. I want to get experience and go above and beyond, but I also miss going out and hanging out with my friends outside of school. Does one bad grade like a 80 on my transcript affect my chances with top tier colleges?

I have been freaking out lately due to the constant drop in my AP US History quiz grades. Except for this class, I have excelled in my other classes. Will Living in a Rural Community Decrease Chances for Success?

I live in a very rural community. Some people have said that they couldn't go to certain schools and colleges because people looked down on the school I went to. Others said that since my school has a lack of teachers and some of our classes are online, colleges don't like that either. However, that isn't something that we can control, you know? #college #college-bound #high-school-classes #online-learning
