As someone who plans on majoring in music performance in college, what should I minor or double major in?

I am well aware of the fact that its going to be a struggle once I get into the world as a musician, so I am exploring other options to do in addition to music performance. Ideally, I would like to do something that is somehow connected to music, like audio engineering etc, but I wanted to see if anyone had any advice. #music #music-performance #college-major #majors #college-majors #choosing-a-major #college-minor #majors-and-minors #music-education #audio-engineering

Exploring interests in college, how do I choose classes?

I'm a high school senior who has interest in multiple fields for college. One thing I'm looking at is engineering school. I know a lot of colleges have separate GEs or core requirements for engineering majors but I would still like to explore other subjects such as foreign language and music. How would I go about this in college and when choosing classes? #engineering #college-advice #college-major #college #foreign-languages #engineer #music #college-majors

What should I major in for Pre-Med

I want to be a doctor, but I am getting mixed answers to what I should major in. First I heard Biology, but then I heard that this is too generic and I should major in a humanity. If I majored in a humanity what would look best to medical schools? I am interested in Philosophy, but am worried that medical schools will not like that or if I later decide I do not want to be a doctor, I will not be able to get a job. #medicine #college-majors

If you are interested in studying occupational thearpy as a major, but it is not listed in the majors offered at the school can you study it under another major at the school?

There aren't many schools that I have looked into that offer occupational therapy as its own major and I am starting to question if it is its own major. In addition I was wondering if it could fall into other majors/fields of study in college. #occupational-therapy #college-majors #career #what-the-university-offers #what-schools-to-attend

What percentage of students in college change their major or declare an undecided major after their first year?

I wasn't sure about what I wanted to major in until recently and I was curious as to whether the odds of me changing my major were high or not. At the moment I don't feel like I will change my major, but my parents and other adults have told me many stories of them changing their majors even after 3 years in college. #college-majors

What is the best field to pursue in the entertainment industry?

I may or may not be going to college next year, which means I need to choose a major. I don't have any interests in any other field besides the entertainment industry. I want to know which field is both satisfying and having a decent pay. Ex: animation, film, etc. However, I also want to know if it's worth getting a degree/major in this field. #animation #3d-animation #college-majors #entertainment-industry #iscollegeworthit

College? Minors, Majors, and coursework?

I know I may be a little young (ninth grader here) to be asking such a question, but I am curious as to how college really "works". I would love to attend a specific college and I'm going to make sure my grades are good for it, but I wouldn't know what to do after graduating and going off to college. I think getting the prerequisites out of the way freshman year seems like a good idea, but what comes after that? Majors, minors, and everything else comes into play. Its all so confusing to me. Can someone help explain how and why we need majors and minors? And how long would it possibly take to obtain a masters degree? How can I figure out what I want to do in the future? I know that I would love to somehow look into gender, sexuality, and women's studies, but how can I get to that point? Is there anything I should knock out in high school to help me make my way up to that point? Thank you!! ~Jack :) #college-majors #majors-and-minors #masters-degree #gender-studies #prerequisites #college-minors #sexuality

Is it better to go to an art college, or an arts and sciences college?

I'm a freshmen in high school, and I'm currently trying to choose between a college specifically for art, or an arts and sciences college. If I wanted to major in illustration, which type of college should I go to? Is it better to go to an arts and sciences college because I will meet different types of people there, or is it better to go to an art college, because I will meet like-minded people there? The college selection process at my high school hasn't begun yet, but I wanted to a get head-start preview of the possible choices and things I should be aware of.. are there any colleges in either area that I should aim to get into? #college #college-major #art #college-majors #college-selection

what can I major in if I want to work for a non-profit

I am interested in working for an organization, something like Rapha Hous which deals with the rehabilitation of young girls that have been trafficked, or Playing for Change which teaches music to children in different parts of the world; mostly dealing with underdeveloped or developing countries. What could I major in to get a job in something similar to this? I would like to do field work, or market and work with ideas surrounding the organization #career-path #college-majors #social-services #helping-others #working-abroad

Is it smart to take advantage of a Build-Your-Own-Program at a college you're interested in?

My dream college doesn't offer my exact degree (Medical Laboratory technology). However, they have a system that if they do not offer your degree, they have a "build your own program". Is it smart to do so? Will the program here be less valuable than a school who already offers the program? #college #medicine #technology #college-admissions #college-majors #choosing-a-major #laboratory
