Should I go to a safety school for now (financial safety/school safety), and then transfer after 2 or 4 years?

I want to complete my general education/major requirements, so is going to a safety and relatively cheap school advisable? Thanks! #college-transfer #college #college-admissions

What are the most suitable majors for transitioning from engineering?

Suppose a person has completed the physics I-III sequence, the calculus I-III sequence, differential equations, probability and statistics, linear algebra, along with several engineering-specific credits. Which majors should they consider transitioning to where they have already met many of the required courses? Unfortunately, transitioning to one of the business majors is less feasible due to the amount of required courses & lack of overlap, and their IQ probably isn't high enough for a mathematics or physics major.

If I were to work on my prerequisites at a local public university for two years and then transfer too a public university out of state, is it worth it?

I have never really wanted to go to a local college because its too close to home and I love to travel. I only chose it because it was cheaper than any others and my parents are not helping me pay for college. Would it be worth it to switch colleges after two years or should I just stay with the college I am at? #college-transfer #college #community-college

Should I transfer schools? [College transfer]

Hello CareerVillage community! I'm currently a college student in my second year. I'm about to complete my fourth semester at my public school, where I'm pursuing a BFA in Studio Art, concentration in Graphic Design. I just declared my major as Graphic Design, but the program that I am in is lacking in many, many ways. It's not rigorous enough for me, and I feel like it's not challenging enough for me. My university is definitely not known for this major. I did want to transfer out in my first year, and planned on transferring out after making a portfolio, but I stayed for the friends I made and the communities I became a part of. But with the major that I'm in, it's a bit of a tricky situation. Should I be looking to transfer to more professional art schools? I do feel confident enough in my ability, but I have no portfolio. It's too late to make one, and I don't have time to apply as a junior transfer. It's a bit of a pickle. I know it's late, but I really didn't want to leave my school right now, but after spending a semester in upper-level Graphic Design courses, I'm seeing how awful the program is. Should I stick to my college right now, in a very lacking BFA program, or attempt to transfer to a more expensive school and wait a year to apply? I'm conflicted. Thank you in advance! tags: #art #graphic-design #college-transfer #art-school #fine-art #transfer

Right now I'm at a private university, and it's so ridiculously expensive. I love my school, I do, but is it really worth it to be in so much debt? What is the best way to ensure the right credits get transferred to a 4-year college?

I will be attending John Tyler Community College this fall, and I am planning to transfer (sooner rather than later) to VCU after I finish my prerequisites. I will be majoring in general science with the intended career path of pre-medicine; therefore, I will have a wider variety of job options. However, with many in's and out's of pre-med majors, or in my case a science major, it is known that credits can get lost in the mix. I would like to avoid having to take unnecessary classes while at John Tyler and take as many valid credits as possible. How can I be sure that my transfer between colleges will contain the correct pre-med credits? #college-advice #college-transfer #college-advising #college-advisement

#college-transfer, How can I make it more enjoyable and smoothly for myself to transfer to another school?

#college-transfer It is so a dainty task to transfer from one school to another with all the paperwork involved. Schools should make it easier for students to do so. They always make the transfer students feel like freshmen right out of high school instead of professional students with experience!

Should I pursue the Marketing and Information Systems degree?

I've reached the point in my academic career wherein I must make a choice. I'm applying for transfer, and I have to choose my concentration for my major. I am very apprehensive and scared in making the choice. I am a business major and am presently taking some more business-oriented courses: Macroeconomics, Financial Accounting, Business Writing, etc. I've noticed through my time in college that my interests tend to fall into things that require me to be creative: Writing, music, speech, and so forth. These areas are also my stronger skills. I am less moved by numbers, though I am capable of making the calculations once I've been taught. I've maintained a 4.0 GPA the past three semesters, and am on the path to graduating with a transferable Associate degree in Business Administration and an Associate Degree in Communications. I'm looking at Cal State Fullerton; they have a program there that I find may be very lucrative and suitable for someone such as myself: Marketing and Information Systems. However, I am aware that pursuing Marketing may not be a safe and stable choice. If I major in Finance I'll be able to find my way into the Marketing Field than the other way around. During my academic pursuits, though, I want to enjoy what I am learning to enhance my engagement and efforts. I'm afraid if I go into Finances, the duration of studies will be full of material I don't find as engaging, which may in turn take a toll on my drive and passion. I know I can change concentrations at University, but I've been informed that it is really hard to do. I don't want to waste time, but I also don't want choose something I find more creative and interesting over a stable future. Some additional questions would be, is Marketing a stable career choice? Is it fruitful even for those who don't wound up working for incredibly successful businesses? Is it a feasible goal or are successes in the field rare? #college #business #marketing #career-choice #college-transfer #specialization

Is biology the right choice?

I am currently in community college to complete my prerequisites for a biology major. I want to transfer to UC Davis or Cal Poly Pomona because I want to become a veterinary technician and then later on advance into a veterinarian. However, I am finding chemistry to be a really difficult prerequisite to get over. I know that it'll get harder as I go on, but I'm already finding myself with no motivation and I just want to know, is biology the proper field for me if I want to be a veterinary technician? Will it be more helpful once I go back to school to complete my education to become a veterinarian? #biology #veterinarian #veterinary #animal-health #college-transfer #veterinary-technician
