Should I go into the medical field or become a writer?

I've always loved writing, but I've also always loved helping people. One of my goals in life is to have a lot of free time and freedom with my money, but I know I would only get one of those by becoming a doctor. I wouldn't have a lot of free time as a medical student and I'd work long hours as a medical professional, and I'm not even that good at Biology. But on the other hand, I've always been good at writing, and I've already published a book at a young age. Which is the best option for me?

I don’t know… I am lost… What do I do? I’ve hit my all new low.

A few days ago I felt like I’ve hit my all new low… I don’t know what major to do in college nor do I have a interest in any majors or what college I want to go. Despite going on many college tours in-state (Massachusetts) and out of state, all of them stood out to me, but I cannot choose one because they have great benefits in different areas. In the end of the college searches none has really grabbed my interest, I just thought it was like High School 2.0 with harder classes and more responsibilities. Not only college have lacked my interest but my major and career goals. I’ve done some shadowing and summer programs over the summer to see what I like, but from business to working at a hospital, I did not feel that click or attachment in any of those fields. I also took a Real Estate class with a friend to see if I do like it, I do like it, but I don’t feel the drive or passion like the other programs/shadowing. I just feel lost about my future career or what I even want to do. What do I do? Should I take a gap year to further figure out? Or should I go into college undecided? I am open to any advise or comments.

How do I pick just one career path?

Hi, I honestly have no idea what career would be best for me. One I could succeed in, I want to be a nurse but at the same time a photographer and a writer. I do write stories because I have a lot of ideas in my head, and photography my dad got me into that and I love it. I am only in high school right now and got two years to think about it, but it will go by so fast. Also, not comfortable with asking the counselor because it feels like they judge more that helping.

Is it okay to continue a medical course even if you are not passionate about it?

I have been studying Dentistry for 2 years in University now. I know I can finish Dentistry if I persist and carry on. But Dentistry just takes so long, and it exhausts me mentally, emotionally, and physically. I know I can get another job after I finish this degree, I am just having my doubts that maybe I am not fit or good enough. I do not know if the passion will grow in me. I am not quite sure if I am on the right path, or what path I would take if not. I just need some words to clear my head from overthinking. Life is clearly unpredictable. #careerpath #college #dentistry #confused #lost

Everyone says I have so much potential to do serious jobs (e.g lawyer) so I need help from you.

As I am always top of class and like learning new things, my family says I’d be good for serious jobs like being a lawyer that will get me lots of money. I agree with them as top paid jobs are in this field. But at the same time, I want to be a dancer, actress and a model for my passions . whereas law gives a guaranteed rich life, which is what really want. BTW I had to put I’m in USA because the option of the UK wasn’t there. #law #career #business #everyone #confused #life #money

How can I choose a profitable career when my interests don’t align with many?

I’m an upcoming senior in high school and I’m starting to seriously consider my future path. My issue is that my interest in the preforming and fine arts outweighs much of anything else, and From what I know those Aren’t fields that often get paid very much. I enjoy designing and drafting so I was looking at careers in the architectural and graphic design fields, but I hold more passion for fiction writing than I do Math. My other interests are things like theater, music (theory and performance) I do find things like psychology interesting, but that field deals with directly helping people, and jobs like that, (teacher, therapist, psychiatrist,) would be awful for me. So I’m at a huge roadblock. Any help? #arts #music #career #career-choice #help #architecture #graphicdesign #starvingartist #decisions #stuck #confused #help # #psychology #profitable #money

I don't know what to do.

I'm not really sure what to do for college, I'm a junior in high school and I'm pretty lost. I don't really have any ideas in mind, although I spend a lot of time on my laptop I don't see myself liking a profession based on technology ( I've researched about computer science, programming, etc. ). I researched about being a teacher as well but came to realization that I'm not really as devoted as others to be able to stick with a job like that forever, on the daily. I'm pretty lost, can someone help me? #help #confused #lost

Is it normal to start work before signing a contract?

It freaked me out because a few days ago, I received an email notice that I was accepted to a job position that I applied for, but right after that email notice, there was another email giving me instructions for my first assignment and telling me that it needed to be completed within 48 hours. I should also mention that this job is 100% remote and online, and I would be considered an independent contractor, not an employee, were I to take the job. But that's the thing - I read the contract, but I have not signed it yet because I don't have a good feeling about this. I find it strange that I was expected to start work as soon as I was notified that my job application was accepted. Aren't you usually given the option to formally accept and/or decline the job? It's like they automatically assumed that I would accept the position just because I applied, and while normally that's true, I'm not sure if I want to take this job anymore based on the series of events that unfolded. I admit I don't have much experience with jobs since I'm just a college student, but I don't feel that this is normal procedure, is it? #job #job-questions #work #work-questions #contract #independent-contractor #college-student #confused #advice #job-advice #career-advice #help

Which college in Idaho should I try to attend for Civil Engineering?

Double Major in Psychology & Nutrition?

So, I’m a senior in college & I’m now questioning all of my life decisions. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE psychology. But I’m just now realizing throughout the years I’ve always had such a strong passion for nutrition & I don’t know what to do. My original plan was to go to grad school & get my masters in school psychology. I’m now realizing that that’s something I just don’t want to do anymore. If I could just start over & get a bachelors degree is nutrition & dietetics & becomes a nutritionist I 100% would. But now I feel like it’s way too late to do anything about it and I should just finish my psychology undergrad degree and apply for graduate school even though I don’t think I will get in nor do I truly want to do it. What would my possibilities be if I got a bachelor’s degree in psychology and nutrition? My parents are so set on me going to grad school that before I mention anything to them I need to have a set plan. I feel like I’ve wasted so much of their money being almost done and realizing my passion isn’t psychology. I just really don’t know what to do or where/who to turn to. Can I still succeed in life? #psychology #college-major #career #nutrition #doublemajor #confused #psychologynutrition #nutritionist
