Would it be rude to tell my teacher to stop smoking, if not, how can I put it as gently as possible?

She is an amazing teacher who knows a great deal. She has control of the class and makes learning effective but her breath and classroom smells of cigarettes and coffee. For her well being I want her to stop smoking and in turn help me and my classmates learn better without worrying about second hand smoking. Just to clarify, she doesn't smoke in class, she takes breaks to smoke and the stench attaches itself to her and dissipates in the room. It bothers my classmates and I, taking away from our learning in our STEM class. Is it wrong to ask this of her, or am I doing the right thing? #morality #education #education-management #student #school-counseling #counselor

How will the knowledge one learns, and the experience one has change the lives of other people and create a better community, so there's more unity instead of isolation if someone were to study psychology counseling?

From a person who likes to observe someone's mental mind, how would knowing the mind, and knowing why someone does what they do help them in the future and make them become a better person. How will talking to someone and hearing their problems help you become a better person? How can sympathy create change in ones action. I'm an architectural student but I want to cross over to cosmetology

I have always loved the idea of owning a spa but for some reasons I ended up studying architecture. I thought I could still study for cosmetology at least on a minimal level but it turns out architecture is taking all my time. I want to stop studying architecture and focus on what I had in mind before. I've concluded my 2nd year in the university. Academic achievements and real-life experience, which is more important?

I can probably say that I am good at academy, but I merely have real-life experience. Some of my friends always tell me that no matter how high GPA I have, without work experience, it is impossible to find a satisfied job after I graduate from college. However, I don't think so, and it doesn't make sense at all because without knowledge, how can you find jobs and in what reasons, the employer will hire you? #professor #counselor #recruiting #employer

What is the most benificial college for a psychology degree? Also, what degree is the most benificial?

I'm trying to choose a degree in psychology. I am not sure if it would be better to get a higher degree and do more schooling or just an average degree with less schoolling. Also, I am not sure what college would be the best for this degree. I've heard a lot of good news with Wisconsin and Illinios colleges, but am still not sure. Questions that will lead me to the answer could be the following: Is it close to Ilinios? How far away is it? Is it affordable for an average income family? Can I stay there without transferring to get my degree? Is the area safe? Is it private or public? Can I easily bike to get groceries or other things? Is the college not huge, but not too small? and... Will I be able to keep myself busy in my freetime? #psychology #social-work #counselor #therapy #psychiatry #counselling #mental-health #therapists

Is the best decision to take a gap year before going to college if you are unsure about your career path?

The biggest question I ask myself when thinking about college is if I am going to waste not only my time, but money I do not have if I attend college as an undecided major. One of the greatest pressures high school seniors face is the dilemma of choosing to go straight to college or to opt for a gap year. Financially, does it make more sense to take this gap year to "figure" myself out before making the commitment to go to college? #college #teacher #education #counselor #financial-aid #undecided

How can I tell my parents that I do not want a career in the medical field?

I am Nigerian and all I have ever heard from my mom is that I should be a BSN or pharmacy. To please her, and to avoid conflict, I enrolled in college for nursing. I was unhappy. It took a while for me to gather my courage and change my major to biology. I did not inform them of the change so when they found out, they were very upset and are still upset. I don't know how to tell them that nursing is not where I see myself in the future. I may be in college a bit longer than others, but I am now very happy with my choice. #biology #counselor #parent-communication

Is it better to go to a more prestigious, but more expensive, school for undergrad before medical school or to go to a state school for less money?

I'm a high school junior looking to apply to schools like Vanderbilt and Cornell, but also James Madison and Ohio University. All are excellent schools, however Vanderbilt and Cornell are generally known as more academically challenging and prestigious than others. I am looking to apply to medical school after earning my bachelor's degree, and was curious as to how much influence this had on me getting into the best medical schools. Is it better for me to spend more money and get the "higher level" degree, allowing me to network with the students and faculty there, or is it better to save some money and earn my degree at a cheaper school? Thanks! #college #doctor #pre-med #college-admissions #medical-school #counselor

Would it be bad to get a bachelor's degree at a state college instead of a university?

I live about 20 minutes away from a state college that offers a bachelor's degree in Biology. That is what I plan to major in regardless of what school I to attend. I would rather go to a state college because I can live at home and I will save about 40,000 dollars, if I attend the state college nearby.
