Is a Business Major a good fit?

Hi, I am a junior in High school looking at graduating with an Associate's and hoping to nail down a major. I previously thought about psychology or creative writing but they don't feel like the right fit. I really enjoy writing and want to find a job I can be creative with. I also want a challenge, and something with a changing work pace that keeps me engaged. I was looking at creative directing but I know that is an end game career. What jobs would allow me to pitch ideas, work on projects, or allow me to make ideas into a reality? At the same time I am hoping those projects wouldn't be only numbers on a screen. With this in mind, would business fit? If so, any ideas? I am finding it hard to narrow down any careers. Thank you.

When can I "hang up the towel" at a well-paying job and pursue my real passion?

Context: I am a senior in college tracking towards a full-time offer from a well-established investment firm after graduation. While I am excited, grateful, and feel relatively prepared (business major for the past four years and have interned in finance) lately I've been feeling the pressure on if I should instead follow my "true" passion since childhood: writing. Assuming I don't need to become a novelist, but would be fulfilled with simply a more creative occupation like a marketing assistant, creative coordinator, etc - my question is this: At what practical, financially stable point can I "throw in the towel" with my finance job in order to pursue a career I am much more passionate about but will pay much less? Is this advisable in the first place? Thanks for any advice! #business #career #finance #creative #art #marketing #entry-level

What are good career options if I am interested in both writing and "using my creative mind"?

I am a sophomore in high school looking for career options that not only let me use my creative mind but also don't limit me from doing more than one thing in life. I don't know exactly what I want to do, however I do know I want it to make people smile. I'm interested in writing, traveling, design, etc while some of my favorite classes include both English and Spanish. I'm a bit all over the place. Do you have any advice on what I should do? #high-school #business #career #creative #writing #traveling #career-counseling #media #english

What Are Some Career Skills That Are Essential If I Want To Pursue A Career In The Creative Side Of Marketing?

I have been considering changing my major to Marketing. I heard that there are two sides to marketing (although I know I'm gonna learn about both), the analytical side and creative side. I want to lean towards the creative side of marketing. Some roles I'm interested in: - Brand Marketing - Social Media Marketing/Management - Content Marketing - Graphic Design

How do i balance acting and law school?

Hey! So I am completely torn apart... I'm about to finish school and have already applied to one of the best law schools, but now I have doubts... I don't know if i am making a mistake by pursuing such a time consuming career that I find amazing and inspiring, but has been on my mind for just one year. I find myself doubting this matter, because whenever i watch a musical or even a movie i feel devastated since i left acting school a few years ago since my parents made me chose between acting ( which i had just begun) or horseback riding ( that i was doing for the longest time ). I feel like i choose horses over acting, because i had been doing it for my whole life and it was in my comfort zone. But i had so much fun while acting, singing and dancing. I had only started and maybe wasn't amazing, but i definetly felt in my element. Also the coaches there encouraged me and truly believed in my talent. So, again, whenever i watch a musical i feel like that is what i am made for. I sing everyday and know all the lyrics. I even act parts out :') I don't care if i get famous or not, i just want to do what i feel passionate about. At the same time i have only done acting 6 months and i feel like maybe i don't know the full story. So my question is : should i pursue both things or should i go against my parents will and focus only on acting? I feel like college may feel like an obligation that my parents taught me about. Any advice? #career #law #acting #singing #creative #musical-theatre

What are some ways I can use my college summers efficiently if I can't get a summer job?

I'm entering my sophomore year in college, and still enjoying my summer. However, I was unable to find myself a steady job this summer (so I've been taking work where I can- moving jobs, pet & house-sitting, yard work, etc..), and have thus been spending all of my free time exercising my creativity by painting, writing, and working on establishing an online presence with vlogging. Still, I feel like there is more I can do- nay, more that I *should* be doing. When I get tired of painting or crafting or exercising I will crack open some of my language books from last semester to stay sharp, but aside from that, I feel stuck. #education #higher-education #counseling #time-management #mentoring #academic-advising #creative #e-learning
