Can I become a paralegal with a criminal justice degree? Is a paralegal a stressful job? Can I work independently or is it best to land a position with an attorney?

Becoming a paralegal is something that I have thought deeply about and considered on more than one occasion. As I near the end of my schooling, I am wondering if this position is a as stressful as being a legal secretary (a position I previously held and despised! ) and if I will need to obtain more education before pursuing this career path. #legal #paralegal #criminal-justice

Is being a lawyer a 9-5 job? If so, how can I change that?

I heard that lawyers take on a 9-5 job whereas some don't. How, if law is a 9-5 job, can I make it more flexible? Is self-employment an option? #lawyer #criminal-justice #attorney #law

How have the recent Supreme Court rulings effected your job as a lawyer?

As we all know, the past few months have brought lots of interesting rulings from overturning Roe v Wade to striking down New York's requirements for carrying a concealed weapon to decisions around separation of church and state. As a lawyer, how have these rulings effected you? Have they led to more clients? Have you had to make any changes to the way you practice law?

Does anyone know any places where I can intern to work with at risk youth?

I use to want to be a police officer and make my way up to detective but after graduating college, I decided that it wasn't what I wanted anymore. However, I do want to work with at risk youth but I still have mixed feelings and I am not sure where I can intern or even begin to explore this option to see if it is what I really want to do. There are places that I have applied too and have not heard back and I feel as if I am running out of options and places to look. If anyone has any ideas or guidance that they can give me, I would truly appreciate it because the only way to know if this is what I want to do for a career, is to try it out.

What does an aspiring cop have to look forward to in the coming years?

With public relations and police seemingly at odds, what does someone aspiring to join the force have to look forward to? It seems like the swinging pendulum is going fast and faster between liking the police and hating them. The pendulum swing is normal over time, but due to the 24-hour news cycle, it seems to be growing exponentially faster. So my question essentially is: What does the next generation of cops-to-be have to look forward to? Will we continue to militarize our police, or will be swing the opposite way and trend towards community policing? When will the anti-cop pendulum swing back towards the positive? #police #law-enforcement #criminal-justice

What can I do to decide what I want to be in life

I’m interested in criminal law and justice. I’m considering being a lawyer, some of my favorite classes are humanities, math, and science. I’m also considering being a therapist but I’m not sure. I wonder steps I could take to further conclude my decision on what I want to be in life.

What field of psychology would be best for me?

I am a second year college student majoring in psychology with a minor in criminal justice. I am unsure of where I want to go with my career. I am interested in mental disorders and the affects they have on the brain. As well as figuring out why criminals commit crime. If you have any advise on what I could pursue, balancing both of these topics that would be extremely helpful. Thank you. #psychology #criminal-justice
