Double Majoring

I hear that going to college for one major can be difficult enough. Isn't two better than one? If I wanted to pursue a career in business and law, could I major in both to be competitive within the professional field, or, should I major in business and minor in law? I feel that earning two majors shows passion and dedication, showing any hiring team in the professional field I want to go into that I am serious about my job. Should I stick to only one major and chose a minor? Or should I double major to be competitive? #majors #choosing-a-major #double-major #college-major

What is the daily life of a dance major?

Although I LOVE dance and would like to major in dance for my undergraduate degree, I want to make sure this is the right fit for me. Therefore, I have a few questions. What is the daily life of a dance major? Do you get to pick your classes? Do you have time to double major? Do you have time to have a job outside of campus? How much studio dance experience do you need? #double-major #dance #dailylife #college #majors #college-experience

What are the rewards of pursuing a double major?

I am passionate about environmental issues, and would like to use business to become a part in solving that problem. My university does not have a "green" business degree as some schools do. At this point I am intending to pursue a business major with an environmental science minor. I am curious if there would be any real benefit to pursuing a double major instead or if I should just plan to go on to a masters in environmental studies once I have a business foundation. #business #environment #environmental-science #double-major

Is it worth it to get a double or even a triple major?

It is theoretically good to have more than one major because it translates into more job opportunities. However, the tuition and time needed increases significantly and for the most part, a job would only require one major. #college-major , #double-major , #college-advice

It is worth it to keep music in my life as I pursure college and careers?

All throughout k-12 school, music has been a big part of my life. Playing principal clarinet in numerous all-state events and solo contests throughout my high school career has been a big part of my life. However, I am probably going to pursue science in college, and I am wondering if I should keep playing at all. After all, knowing scales and etudes isn't going to help me much in a field of physics or neuroscience. Should I go with my brain and drop it, go with my heart and keep it, or do both somehow? #music #clarinet #neuroscience #science #physics #stem #double-major

Complimentary major/minor for Sociology major?

I plan to chase after a career in international human rights law, working with NGO's like Amnesty International or the EU court of human rights. With that in mind, I've thought about minors/ double majors in subjects like Spanish or international studies, but am still undecided what subject would both compliment my interest in sociology and prepare me for a career in this specific field of law. (Or just law and law school in general, really). #sociology #international-humanitarian-law #human-rights #double-major #college-minor #law-school

What are the benefits of a double major when considering post-graduate education or the job market?

My name is Ben, and I'm planning on majoring in Molecular Biology, with plans on going to med school. However, because of my passion and talent in music, I am seriously considering to pursue a second degree in music. But after doing some research, I am unsatisfied with the results I have found. The results online seem very vague and obvious. Of course taking more classes means potential for longer time of graduate/increase in tuition and loss of focus/time. Of course it exposes you to new ideas and concepts. Therefore, I am still confused about whether there are tangible benefits, if any, of pursuing a double major. Therefore, my question is: What are the benefits of a double major when considering post-graduate education or the job market? Specifically, what scholarships/grants are available for double majors? Does having a double major give applicants an advantage when going into med school or competing in the job market? #biology #music #job #medicine #college-major #college-advice #double-major
