Is Graphic Design the career for me?

Next year I'm planning to get a certificate in Graphic Design. Problem is I'm not creative or artistic. I really love art. I'm thinking of teaching myself to draw ect. I struggle to think outside the box and scared I will fail next year. I wonder if studying further is necessary and should I work for myself or not.

Is it strange to have such diverse career goals? How do I go about wanting to do something with art, being a 911 operator, and being an elementary school teacher?

During my 12 years of school, I was "encouraged" to go to college, but it was more like manipulation. It was more like a life or death situation when it came to the topic of college, which essentially drove me away from wanting anything from it. During high school, I wanted to do more with art, whether it came to YT sorry time animation, cartoons, comics, anything. At the moment, I'm experimenting with tattoo design. During the middle or end of 11th grade, I looked into being a 911 operator. Funny enough, what encouraged this choice was the show 9-1-1. I want to be the voice that the person on the line hears when they're in a state of distress, and I want to be the one to help them. I know that is not as somewhat glorified as it is in the show, but I want to help and be there for them. When I graduated high school, I started to want to become a teacher. I think I would be fit for pre-k, kindergarten, middle school, or high school for many reasons, and I figured elementary was the sweet spot. I want to be a teacher because I and many other students, former and current, hated school because of the teachers, staff, and the education system as a whole. We feel that it's not beneficial or good for our wellbeing, mental and otherwise. I want to be the teacher kids look up to, are comfortable with, and feel safe with. It's for the well being of tiny humans. I feel like I relate to these kids because I like what they like, what they find boring, I find boring. (I also want a little army to sing Disney and musical songs with me while doing work.) #college #teaching #education #teacher #career #911 #911operator #operator #artist #art #drawing #help

Im burnt out and out of ideas

it started like around 3 weeks after I did some drawing spree, when I draw something I never finish it I got easily burnt out and when I tried going back to that art I began losing interest in it , maybe its because I draw too much for straight 2 weeks? Should I rest for at least a month or week? I dont know what to do, I feel like I cant draw anymore and it can hinder my progress towards my goals, and also one thing I tried looking in pinterest for some reference but still no go. Im kinda frustrated about it #art #artist #english #help #drawing #career

What kind of business career opportunities are there animation studios?

Hi all! I'm a graduating college next spring with a degree in business-marketing. I'm looking into a career that marries my business degree with industries that I am passionate about like animation (think DreamWorks, Pixar, Disney, Japanese animation). I don't have the artistic technical skills but would love to work as a producer for some of these projects that these studios put out. 1.) Do I need an artistic background/portfolio to obtain an admin role like a producer? 2.) (I have a feeling) but is this an industry where networking is my best bet to even land a more admin job? 3.) What skills would you suggest are special to this industry in this capacity beyond traditional business sales? Would love to hear from anyone who has experience in the field - thanks in advance for your answers! #animation #art #studios #anime #drawing #disney

Am I too late to start a career in Concept Art?

Hello, I was recently let go from my job in the aviation industry due to the Covid-19 crisis. I am now 31 years old and currently looking for a different career path. I always had a passion for drawing and concept art in general, and I used to practice as a hobby but I never made a career out of it. Also, I never had any formal education on it. Could anyone working in this area help me to clarify some doubts? 1. Am I too late to start a career at 31 yo, particularly having no degree? 2. Do I need a university degree or a more technical course would suffice? 3. Given my age, would I be in disadvantage compared to younger people? I'm guessing this is a highly competitive area, and I would love some advice to help me decide if I should invest in it. Any help would be highly appreciated! Thank you and regards, Rodolfo #art #career #artist #conceptart #videogames #digitalpainting #drawing

How to start a career in Art?

What is the best way to start a career in Art? Being able to make out is one thing but getting artwork out there and to be noticed and recognized for any possible career possibilities. I am trying to be a official recognized artist and I'm working on trying to have my own unique style. I focus more on a cartoonish style and less realistic. Plus is it possible to make a living off of doing art. #art #drawing #digital-art #artist

Hi! I'm a female 16-year-old 11th grader, and I have a big interest in character/concept designing for cartoons/videogames.
