I'm not sure which major i should choose to study in college...

Since i'm myself, i believe i know alot about me. I believe i'm strong at analyzing. I am pretty quick to grasp and understand the situation of the place, stuff, and people. And eventually i get to realize what causes have brought to this situation and results quicker than anyone else. Although, i'm not good at making a good ideas or projects, when someone comes up with it, i figure out things to do to make ideas and projects to be better. These are characteristics that i believe i have and i think i should study business or economics major. But i am very afraid what i could do in the society if i major in those subjects. And they say i can study business or economics later when i have safe future. My parents say i should major in computer science since it guarantees safer future than business or economic major. Could you guys give an advice? Also, i want to know what i can do in the future with business or economics major. I really want to be sure of me! Help! #computer-science #business #economics #business-analysis

Economic History or Economics for Equity Research

I'm a high school student looking to apply to the University of Edinburgh and Oxford for a degree in either Economics and Management (Oxford)/Economics with Finance (Edinburgh) or Economics and History (Oxford) and Economics and Economic History(Edinburgh). I feel incredibly passionate about the way that economics and history intertwine, and how each has affected the other over time. So, I would probably have more success in articulating that passion in the university application process, which means I would probably have a higher chance of being accepted. However, the career I want is one in equity research, and I feel that I will have a harder time in terms of finding internships and jobs if I study economic history because economics/finance majors have a more practical background and more obvious connections to the world of banking. Is it possible to break into equity research with a degree in history and economics? Do I need the more practical background of finance? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. #finance #economics #investment-banking #corporate-finance #equity-research

How important is choosing a minor for political science?

I am a senior in high school planning on majoring in political science to possibly obtain a combined BA in Political Science with a Master's in Public Administration. I want to choose a minor that is highly employable but I am unsure which course to take. I love history and philosophy but I am not sure that those minors would be as useful as a minor in journalism or some type of economics or marketing. I also really like statistics but I do not think my college offers a minor in statistics. Overall, how important is choosing a minor? Do employers really look at them? #college #career #journalism #economics #college-minor #history #political-science

create an online business for a specific community?

The LGBT community is way behind in my opinion. We cant relate to the rest of the world, because our art/ideas are ignored more. i want to create a website where lgbt art movies books clothing tv pilots etc can be sold and shared amongst one another. An lgbt version of etsy i guess you could say. The goal is to get the site seen on tv, as well as local lgbt celebrities promote it. Which would also push the community into a more positive light. Any ideas on this would be great. Thanks in advance! #business #marketing #economics #social-media #online-advertising

Better study economics or finance? Which one has more job options?

I have to choose between economics and finance, but it comes really hard to me. According to me finance is more practical and simple, and economics is harder, more theorical. What matters is the job. I mostly like economics, but I don't know if it has a lot of job options for that. If I switched my major from Econ to Advertising. Would this increase or decrease my chances a getting a good job after college? I would love to hear from professionals in the Advertising and Marketing industries.

I am currently an Economics major and an Advertising minor. However I was thinking of switching those around to a Major in Advertising and a minor in Economics. I am interested in working in the marketing and/or advertising industry but I am open to working other industries (business operations, HR, sales, maybe finance.) But also I am worried about job security post college. I would love to get some input on this before I make any important decisions. Thank you! :) #college #career-counseling #marketing #economics #advertising

Army guy looking for educational help, career wise.

Hey guys, I've lurked on this site for all of 3 hours before realizing actual professionals respond on here, which is what I'm looking for. Anyways, I'm David. I've been in the Army since I was 17(got parents consent/signature). I'm 21 now and currently serving in the National Guard. I have recently come to a road block in my educational career. I've been at a community college for 2 whole years now and I have been on the path to becoming a Registered nurse, since in the Army I'm a combat medic and have some medical experience and certifications under my belt. Now recently, I'm starting to feel as if the medical field isn't my true passion, and tbh I still don't think I've found a major I'm truly passionate about, but I have always had an interest in economics and businesses and how they're able to make money and stay in business etc etc. Should I stay on the path to becoming an RN, or switch to majoring in Finance or Economics. Or would perhaps another business related degree be more marketable and valuable or should I pursue even something like engineering. Any advice/help/opinions/tough love is much appreciated! #business #engineering #nursing #finance #economics

Does living and growing up in a cosmopolitan area affect an individual's creativity?

People are who are intelligent aren't necessarily intellectual. I read a piece by a professor at Swarthmore College about how intellectual people see links between ideas and theories. Also, the majority of people in my town are part of the "Creative Class."
