What careers would allow me to create something that will change the world?

I'm interested in math and science, but love writing and traveling. I don't like jobs that are not hands-on, or that are lifeless -- in other words, jobs like mechanical engineering or computer science which don't deal with life. I want to get out of "the matrix", but I can't for the life of me find or decide on a career where I can pretty much be guaranteed to create something that will change the world but won't have to sit on a computer all day.

What advice can you give me about my future career in Industrial Electronics?

I have a few questions about the Industrial engineering field, more specifically Industrial Electronics. Given the extensive process to even get certified or a degree, I'm curious as to the learning curve of the work? Are there any particular skills that I should become acquainted with before entering the work field? And are there any commonly open positions regarding this profession? Is it something I would easily be able to apply for a job in, or would it take a longer time with less likelihood of getting in than most other jobs?

Is it a good idea to put some of the modules/subjects taken at college in the resume?

I am a fresh graduate in the midst of finding a suitable job. While searching various positions, I have found that some companies require knowledge in a particular area. For instance if I am applying for an Inspection Engineer position which requires knowledge in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, can I describe about my materials science modules taken and its projects I did in my CV/resume? I only have a degree in mechanical engineering but I have learnt about NDT methods in my materials science modules. I don't have any hands-on experience in NDT so I am unsure whether stating my modules would be effective. #engineering #resume #careers #materials-science

Is changing my schedule worth it for technical school ?

My school offers a program where juniors and seniors can apply to leave for their first two blocks to go to technical school. They earn four elective credits per year for this and can even earn college credit. They still have to earn enough credits to graduate, so sacrifices have to be made. In my case I would like to apply for their engineering and robotics program. Since I’ll only have two classes a day, I won’t be able to take a lot of the classes I want to. These are AP Calc C (I can take BC the previous year instead of AB), two additional years of French (including French 4 and AP), two years of band (I’ve been doing band since fourth grade; I play seven instruments), AP Comp Sci A, AP Chem (I’ve loved chemistry since third grade), and AP Psych. Will this look bad for college? Is it worth it?

Is a masters in any engineering field worth the extra investment?

I'm a prospective engineering student and I was wondering if pursuing a masters in the future is a worthy investment of time and money, or if I should plan on just getting my degree and starting work? The financial aspect of college is a big deal for my family and me, so a professional opinion would greatly help! #engineering #masters #masters-degree #paying-for-college

Going down the right track ?

Hey there, I'm going to study electrical engineering at a top university abroad (t30) and plan to take a minor in applied AI in my second year. So for this, I have started working on Python, Java, and C++ (as I have already completed C back in high school) and plan to work on VHDL afterwards for digital hardware design and test engineering. I'm sure there are so many potential electrical engineers in this group who know if I'm going down the right track. TIA!
