What careers can an individual with a business degree choose from if they're primarily interested in entertainment and tourism?
Hello! I wanted to know if there were any people out there who might be able to give me some insight on how it is working in entertainment/ tourism as a business major. What is your title? How did you get there? What were some of your past titles? What could a business major do working at an amusement park? What career titles exist? And how competitive is the field? P.S.- I also plan on minoring in communications to compliment my business degree. Is this a step in the right direction or unnecessary? How much opportunity is there for a STEM major in the entertainment industry?
My question regards the potential to find employment in the industry of entertainment (film and television) for a student majoring in a STEM field. I ask it because I have always had an interest in both of these areas, but they seem to be on opposite poles of the career spectrum. Particularly, I have an interest in computer science and software engineering on the STEM side, and something in production (VFX, SFX, writing, set prod., editing, etc.) on the side of entertainment. Is there any way I can combine the two? #college #computer-science #computer-software #film #software-engineering #stem #entertainment #vfx

I am a theatre kid and I love acting. I have a big dream of being in movies and shows. I just don't know how and where to do it.
Any advice about following your dreams in the entertainment industry?
I'm in need for some advice. Ever since I was little, i knew I wanted to make music and movies. I've been playing the piano since I was 5, and the guitar since I was 8. I've been creating home movies since I was really young. Movies and music are my greatest passions. They make me who I am. I've been working 2 jobs in order to save up to move to Los Angeles. I'm about to start my 3rd job (on the weekends) in order to save even more money. I work about 55-60 hours a week. I'm exhausted, but I want to achieve my dreams more than anything. I can't see myself doing anything else. Any advice? #film-acting #singers-career #entertainment #motion-pictures-and-film #movie-production #performing-arts

Best way to enter the entertainment industry on the business side
Hi everyone, I am currently a junior in college, and my professional future seems to be directed towards advertising. After an internship in marketing in general, I am interning this summer in an ad agency, on the data analysis side. Yet, my dream is to work in the entertainment industry, on the business side, either as an agent or in a studio. I was wondering what you would recommend to enter this industry where network is everything. Is it worth it to start as an assistant (at the bottom of the food chain) and then become an agent, potentially later switching to a studio? Or would you recommend starting in another industry (advertising for instance) and then switch over at a later date, probably higher up in the hierarchy? And more generally, what is your opinion on this industry? Thank you very much for your help! #marketing #entertainment #advertising #career-change #entertainment-industry #digital-advertising #entertainment-marketing
