Which college would be better to go to?
I'm currently deciding between two colleges right now, Binghamton University and University of Colorado Boulder. I'm leaning towards Boulder however I don't know if leaving New York would grant me the same opportunities as Colorado would. My hope is to go into the film industry but I'm going to get a degree in Physics/Computer Science as well as a fall back.
How do I pick what to do in college and with the rest of my life?
I am starting my senior year of high school in the fall and I've been thinking about what I want to do in the future. I really love film and I've been interested in becoming a director or cinematographer, however, I've been told that they aren't practical enough. The alternative is international law and political science because I guess those are things I could settle for. How do I pick what to do?
If I would like to do professional animation for work, should I major in art or film?
So for context, I've always been stuck between going to school for art or going to school for film, because I love the both of them and animation requires knowledge of both skills. I'm always asked about college & I just don't know which one is best for my goals.
Does anyone have any advice for me?
I'm currently going into my first year of college. I was planning on doing a major in Physics with a minor in film but the more I look into it and do research the more I find out that Physics isn't a secure job. I was originally going to do Computer Science before Physics and I was thinking of switching back to that because I also enjoy programming. My goal post-college was to hopefully get a job in the film industry. If that didn't work out I could have a master's degree in Computer Science and get a job working as a software engineer or something similar. I'm so lost right now and have no clue what I should do. Any advice is helpful. Thank you so much.
What are some ways/tips or what general direction should I take in order to pursue a film career?
I'm currently a sophmore in highschool and I've been interested in taking film as my major in college. Firstly is it worth it to pursue this path or this particular major (as college is quite expensive) and also what are some ways to find employment after college? Also for some more context I already have a fairly entry level grasp on film basics via my school production studio (EX: Camera, Mic use, editing, filming, and some studio work/directing).
How can I get more involved in film/the entertainment industry while still in high school?
I will be a sophomore in a couple months. I already selected electives such as video production(mainly works on my school’s tv show) and animation for this upcoming year and I took “intro to acting” last school year. I’m also in stage crew for our play and musical. I want to gain more experience and I know that these will help but I want to be involved outside of just classes. What’s the next step that I should be taking to get involved and gaining experience?
What should I study: Photography or Filmmaking? Please help. Thank you.
I'm a 28 years old young man who recently graduated from a local university with a B.Sc Hons Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management. I have always been passionate about photography and filming. I want to study either one of these two probably in the next coming year of 2025. Should I choose filmmaking or photography? I'm battling with my mind regarding which option should I go for, because I have a massive passion for both. Moreover, I'm a very dedicated writer, artist-painter and graphic designer. #film-production #photography #photography
