Is the college I go really so important?

I know that some colleges are better than others but at the end of the day is it just about the degree? Lots of people tell me it doesn’t matter where you go as long as you get the information. But there’s a reason some schools costs so much more- is the quality of education worth it? I don’t want 4 years to cripple me financially, especially if I’m not sure what it’s worth. #payingforcollege #college #financial-planning #college-tuition

Is it better to still live with your parents when you are in College/ University?

I'm a sophomore in college, and I still stay with my parents. Most people find that weird, they expect that you should move out when you are about to go to college. To me it actually saves me money on paying rent and other expenses. But of course if your college is out of state or really far you can stay on campus. But if your school is like 45-50 mins ride everyday, you can save your money for graduate school, and continue to stay with your parents. #nursing #college #housing #financial-planning

Is it wise to pursue a career that is more likely to make you happy than make you a lot of money?

I've always been interested in the sciences, and up until recently I was almost 100% sure I was going to go into microbiology and get a job with the US Navy medical division. That still sounds really interesting and cool, but I don't know if I want to spend the rest of my life staring at cultures in a lab, y'know? I also recently started writing more and found out that I'm not too bad at it and that it makes me happy. I've written some sports articles for the school and city newspapers and really feel like I could spend the rest of my life doing, like, investigative journalism or something. I know a bunch of people who went to college for journalism/literature and didn't get the job they wanted. They're not making much money, are stuck in some dead-beat small town newspaper, and basically aren't having a lot of fun. I guess what I'm asking is what would be a good career/degree path for me to pursue that would let me do what I love while still earning enough to support myself and my family in the future? #financial-planning #salary #money #passion #career-choice

Is it worth it to take out a student loan?

I want to make sure that taking out a loan is a good idea. If I don't get a job right out of college, it will be hard to pay back any student loans, and I'm not guaranteed a job out of college. Is it a good idea to take out a student loan, or should I try to find a less costly option of getting an education? #loans #studentloans #financial-planning #personal-finance

It seems like more jobs need a degree to get. If this is the case, why are university/college prices going up? It is just putting more young adults into debt.

I am asking because I am going to college/university to get my degree and I am curious to why it is costing me so much. #student-debt #college-major #degrees #college #financial-planning #student-loans #financial-advising

Can someone offer me insights of chemical engineering?

I'm still debating between the fields of mechanical and chemical engineering. I wasn't quite familiar with chemical engineering, but I feel like it is a very interesting field. I have a ton of questions about chemical and mechanical engineering that would really help me be more insightful of my choice: How is the rigor of the courses in college? How is the pay? How are the personalities of the people in the field (both college & career) ? Should I go up to my bachelor's degree or is master? Is the degree worth it? #engineering #mechanical-engineering #chemical-engineering #career-details #financial-planning
