What are some methods to reduce the cost of medical school/pay off debt effectively?

Even though medical school is several years away for me, I would like to be prepared in advance. I've seen that med school is quite the hassle in terms of finances and debt, but that the result is worth it, including the income from a residency after med school. Are there any other ways to reduce debt before graduation? #medical-school #graduate-school #school #premed #medicine #psychiatry #psychology #debt #financial-services

Will having my own student income negatively influence my eligibility of financial aid?

Recently, I've been researching the costs of attendance at various colleges and universities, mainly private institutions. Through my research, I've discovered that even though the sticker price is quite high, these universities provide their students with hefty amounts of financial aid and grants/scholarships. But will getting employed and having a student income decrease my eligibility of financial aid? If so, is it better to not get a job at all and just stick to volunteering? #job-search #student #financial-services #financial-aid

Is it more worth it to apply for and/or receive a large amount of small scholarships or a small amount of large scholarships?

It is very time consuming and tedious to apply for one hundred low-value scholarships, but it is difficult for me to write essays for the prompts associated with higher-value scholarships. #scholarships #college-advice #college #financial-services

I have been searching forskilled trade scholarships since October 2017. Very few exist despite workforce need in trades. Could anyone here share info about opportunities you've found?

Despite the critical shortage of skilled tradespeople in the American workforce, very few scholarships exist for students who want to attend vocational school or attend college for training in applied technologies. I know - I've been seeking scholarships since October 2017, for my Fall 2018 enrollment in Welding Technology at Alfred State. Maybe someone out there has more info! ##welding #scholarships #skilled-trades #financial-services

How will an undergraduate business degree in finance compare with a degree in economics from schools that do not offer undergraduate business majors like top ranked ivies?

As a senior in high school I've applied primarily to business schools interested in pursuing a degree in finance and/or information systems. However, at many "elite" universities like the Ivy Leagues, undergraduate business degrees are not offered. The closest equivalent seems to be economics, econometrics, or something of the kind. How does this effect career paths and competitiveness? Would I be better off attending a undergraduate business school even if I was accepted to schools like these? Any insight on the matter would be great! #finance #financial-services #degree-selection #business

I will be attending a college in Michigan to obtain a degree in Finance, but I am not for certain what all type of jobs would be available in that field, other than financial services. What if the College of your dreams accepts you, but the college you know you should go to does not?

I have been accepted into the school of my dreams which happens to be the best school for engineering in the country. However, it costs significantly more than my second-choice school -almost three times more- However, my second-choice school, which is the one that my family can afford, did not accept me into the engineering major. While I can attempt to appeal the decision, I am not sure if there will be a point. Should I be excited that I got into my first choice school, and wory about the price later, or should I try to get into the college that my family can afford. #college #engineering #financial-services
